Look Up: Janet Echelman On The Greenway

When I was a little girl, downtown Boston was kind of a mess. I remember every time my dad would drive our family to the airport, we had to go a slightly different route because the Big Dig kept changing which streets were open. Though I don't remember what it was like before that maze of construction, my parents and grandparents always remind me that the highway used to run through downtown, not below it.

Grey's Anatomy: Dance It Out

Heading into last night's Grey's Anatomy season finale, I was bracing for pain. Shonda Rhimes has been known to go out with a bang (sometimes literally). Apparently the entertainment team at Pop Sugar was feeling the same way I was and ranked the 10 season finales from least to most painful.

Grey's Anatomy: The Carousel

Two weeks ago Derek died and we all questioned whether or not we'd still continue watching Grey's Anatomy.

Last week, that pivotal episode was followed by a two hour show. Sadly, I didn't get to watch live because I was traveling for work.

This week, you get a triple recap - three hours of Grey's!

Last week:

Celebrate: Mother's Day With BloomNation

Last week was my mother's birthday and since she lives in Florida, I always have to plan my gifts far in advance so they arrive on time. This year, my schedule was so hectic that the night before her big day I was scrambling for something to send. I needed a gift that could be delivered overnight.

Shop: The Trendy Sparrow

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon an Instagram account called @thetrendysparrow. Turns out it corresponds to the Etsy shop of Lindzi Shanks, who is clearly my spirit animal. Though we've never met, Lindzi and I share a love of hot pink, metallics, Gossip Girl, mimosas, blogging and female empowerment.

Through her Etsy shop, Lindzi sells primarily coffee mugs (ceramic and to-go) and t-shirts. Here are just a few items I am completely obsessed with:

Grey's Anatomy: Stages Of Grief

It's well documented that the five stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and then finally, acceptance.

After last week's episode of Grey's Anatomy and Derek's very unexpected and tragic death, I think we can all agree we suffered the denial and anger stages pretty immediately. Shonda Rhimes was eviscerated on Twitter as a result.

Casting: First Dates

This one is for #AllTheSingleLadies.

Still looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right? Yeah, me too.

Well, our dear friend Ellen DeGeneres, who you know as the world's best talk show host, an incredible philanthropist, an animal lover and a huge Scandal fan, is producing a new television show First Dates.

Grey's Anatomy: Derek

At the end of last week's episode of Grey's Anatomy the previews for this week promised "This is the episode America will never forget." While that felt very Bachelor "most dramatic ever," after watching last night's episode, I get where they were coming from.

When I came home from work and saw the title of the episode on my DVR ("How to save a life") I knew it would be sad because Grey's made that song famous almost 10 years ago during a heartbreaking scene.

Rental Review: Into The Woods

I had a quiet winter, but my travel schedule is picking up. To prepare myself for the long hours at airports, on planes and on trains, I download movies.

On my last trip, I prepped by securing "Into the Woods" for my flight. I had wanted to see it over the holiday break in December, but my parents convinced me to see "Birdman" instead. I'm still recovering from the weirdness of that film (you can read my review here).

Grey's Anatomy: Flight Flashbacks

At the close of last week's episode we were all left wondering, "Where is Derek?" So of course after that dramatic preview, last night's episode did not address Derek's whereabouts at all. I hate that!

The title of the episode was "One flight down" and in the opening scene, a plane crashes right over the Chief's car as he's driving into work.

The crash occurred when the pilot of the private plane, Sam, felt pain in his chest and lost control. He was flying with his date, Kate. Kate had to take over and attempt to land the plane. All this on their very first date.

Movie Musings: The Longest Ride

This weekend I went with two friends to see The Longest Ride, the newest movie based on a Nicholas Sparks novel. I had seen a preview for the movie when I saw 50 Shades of Grey. I knew nothing about the plot, just that I wanted to see a mostly naked Scott Eastwood.

The movie has two story lines - present day and a series of flashbacks. In the present, Scott Eastwood stars as rodeo champion Luke Collins.
