In January I shared with you my 15 new year's resolutions for 2015 and last month I updated you on my progress toward each goal. Well, this week I achieved one of the biggest goals on the list . . . I adopted a dog!

Growing up, I didn't have many opportunities to enjoy the boating life. To say my parents are anti-boats would be a grave understatement. It seems every time we tried to have a fun, relaxing adventure on the water, a calamity would ensue. Most notably, when I was in elementary school, we went out on a boat in Squam Lake in New Hampshire and the engine died right in the middle of the lake. My dad was wearing a red baseball cap, which he waved vigorously until someone saw us and came with help. Anytime someone offers to take my parents out on a boat, they tell the Squam Lake story.

One of the best things about summer (aside from the warm weather, beach time and nightly frozen treats) is that all of our regular season television favorites are on hiatus, giving us plenty of time to binge-watch new shows.

Today's post marks my one year anniversary participating in the Rockport Challenge! You may remember, it all started when we talked wedding season style, then moved into holiday party must-haves and most recently, the importance of a versatile flat for the work day and weekend.
On Friday night I went with one of my besties to see the new Cameron Crowe movie "Aloha." We had a triple header evening - dinner at Shake Shack, movie at the SuperLux, then dessert at Pinkberry. Now that is how you start a weekend!

On Sunday afternoon I met three friends at Assembly Row in Somerville to see "Pitch Perfect 2." Before I get into my thoughts on the film, I have to say two things: first, LOFT is having a sale - two for one shorts and second, if you want the ultimate movie candy, pop into Sugar Heaven before you head into the theater and get chocolate covered gummi bears.
