Holiday Gift Guide 2016: For The Wine Lover

Happy Cyber Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend filled with quality time with family and friends and boat loads of delicious food. Thanksgiving marks the official start of the holiday season, which is one of my favorite times of year. The weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve are filled with decorating, card writing, party going, cooking, baking and most importantly . . . shopping! (And wrapping, my personal obsession).

Read: The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo

In the past 30 days I have traveled to New York, San Francisco, New York (again) and Los Angeles. This whirlwind month of jet setting and its multitude of flights and train rides has given me ample time to read. Most recently, I finished Amy Schumer's book "The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo."

Shop: Shinola at the Prudential Center

A few years ago, while working for an advertising agency, General Motors was one of my clients. I used to travel back and forth to Detroit, MI regularly and really came to love the city. On one of my visits I was able to attend the grand opening of the first Shinola store in Detroit.

Movie Musings: Loving

It's hard to believe, but the Golden Globes (the official start of awards season) are less than two months away. On Sunday, January 8, 2017 Jimmy Fallon will host and the exceptionally talented Meryl Streep will receive the Cecil B. deMille Award. Mark your calendars!

Knowing that awards season is fast approaching, it's time to start seeing some of the most buzzed about films.

Shop: A Ruby at Copley Place

It's hard to believe, but it's officially November! This month is best known for America's favorite gluttony day, Thanksgiving, but for me, it's the month I kick my holiday shopping into high gear.

Each year I look for gifts that are extra special, beautiful and unique, which is why I am so excited to share with you that A Ruby, a line of French-inspired women's basics, opens their holiday pop-up shop today at Copley Place.

Vote: Presidential Cookie Cake Campaign

Today marks exactly two weeks until Election Day. There is no question this has been the craziest election season of my lifetime, and that's saying a lot. Remember Ross Perot?

New Hampshire-based company GourmetGiftBaskets.com is putting a sweet spin on an otherwise unsavory campaign season with presidential candidate cookie cakes. Each cookie is made with a 10-inch sugar cookie and then decorated with the bust of either Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump or Gary Johnson.

Stream: Quantico (Season 1)

Every time I finish a show or a series I turn to my friend Stephanie for a recommendation on what to watch next. She's the one who got me into Younger and Hart of Dixie.

Movie Musings: The Girl On The Train

My favorite thing to do on a rainy day is go to the movies. Yesterday afternoon I braved the downpours to head to Assembly Row to see The Girl On The Train. I was particularly excited about the movie because I had just read the book in August (you can read my book review here).

Stream: Hart of Dixie (Seasons 1 - 4)

With all of my regular season shows on hiatus for the summer, I got in a lot of streaming time these last few months.

Stay: The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast

Earlier this month my mom and I took a mother / daughter road trip to Portland, ME. Though I have been to several other towns in Maine, I have never explored Portland.

You may remember that in 2015 traveling to Portland was on my list of new year's resolutions. I made 15 resolutions for 2015 (the marketer in me couldn't resist) and I accomplished 13 of them. Visiting Portland was one of two resolutions I didn't achieve (the other was taking a cooking class at BCAE).

Shop: Marmara Imports

I was recently introduced to two local business women, Carol and Susan, and felt inspired to share their story. Carol and Susan are the duo behind Marmara Imports. I was incredibly impressed by their products and I know you will be too.

Read: The Nest

I don't know why, but I love books about tortured souls - The Great Gatsby, The Things They Carried, The Paris Wife, The Art of Fielding.
