My mom is in town this week and she loves to go out. That includes everything from dining out to shopping to live entertainment. Last night we met at the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square after work. We sat in the bar at Rialto (where I went for restaurant week in March) and had a delicious dinner. We started with three small plates: beets and candied walnuts, roasted peppers with golden raisins and crisped artichokes with spicy mustard.
I first discovered the designer Ted Baker in the spring of 2005 in Paris, France. I was immediately taken by his designs which are a sublime fusion of feminine silhouettes and exquisite tailoring. While walking on Newbury Street Easter weekend with my mother, I stumbled upon his new Boston store! I squealed with delight and forced my mother to join me as I combed every rack and stroked each meticulously crafted piece.
