Road Trip: Newport International Polo Series

A few years ago one of my friends went to the Newport International Polo Series in Rhode Island with her mom and when they returned, it all sounded so glamourous.

Since first hearing about their adventure, I've wanted to experience it myself. After several summers of work travel, weddings and family vacations, our schedules finally lined up so we could all go together.

Movie Musings: Trainwreck

Last weekend I went with my BFF to see "Trainwreck" at the SuperLux in Chestnut Hill. I am telling you, there is no better way to see a movie. With our feet up in our luxurious leather recliners, we placed orders for cocktails and some snacks. I had the strawberry basil cocktail and it was superb.

I knew I wanted to see "Trainwreck" from the very first time I watched the trailer. I've been following Amy Schumer since she was on "Last Comic Standing" in 2007. Though her jokes are sometimes way too crass for my taste, I'm incredibly impressed by the career she's building.

Explore: Tel Aviv

I've been having such a wonderful time sharing all the meals from my Israel trip with you. While the focus of my vacation posts has been food, today I wanted to talk about the multitude of other things Tel Aviv offers that make it such an incredible destination.

Read: Modern Romance

Hello, beautiful readers! I hope you had a great week and weekend. Thank you for being patient while I took a week's hiatus to enjoy my vacation in Israel. I am super excited to share all my adventures with you.

Before I dive into the Israel explorations (and indulgences) I wanted to start with a review of the book I read on the plane. Knowing I was about to endure two 12 hour long flights, I thought I deserved to treat myself and buy a new book.

Read: The Andy Cohen Diaries

I used to think that Mindy Kaling was my spirit animal, but after reading "The Andy Cohen Diaries" I think there might be a new contender.

You may remember that back in January I read Andy's first book "Most Talkative" (you can re-read that review here). That book was focused on Andy's college years and his rise to fame in journalism and television production. There were personal stories sprinkled in, of course, but nothing like this second book.

Stream: Orange Is The New Black (Season 3)

I finished season three of "Orange is the New Black" five days after it became available on Netflix. I have been waiting to share my review with you until I had time to sit down and really detail my full reaction to the newest episodes.

After watching the first three seasons, I have to say, I think season two was the strongest. Not only did it have the intense (and sometimes violent) drama of the Vee vs. Red feud, but we learned about the lives of the women before they were in prison through a series of poignant and raw flashbacks.

Movie Musings: Magic Mike XXL

On Friday night I went with one of my BFFs to see "Magic Mike XXL." I think we've both been looking forward to this since the credits rolled on "Magic Mike" three years ago.

Giveaway: I Scream, You Scream

If you've been reading Pop.Bop.Shop. for a while, then you already know that ice cream is my primary food group.

Though I love to eat ice cream, I've never tried to make it myself, mostly because I didn't want to invest in an ice cream maker. And because I don't cook.

So imagine my surprise and delight to learn there is a new cookbook out there full of 100 ice cream recipes, all possible without an ice cream maker! Ladies and gents, meet Leslie Bilderback's "No-Churn Ice Cream."

Explore: South End Garden Tour (Part IV)

The South End Garden Tour is one of my favorite annual traditions in Boston. I've always found the beauty of the South End to be magical - the brownstone-lined streets, the canopy of leafy green trees, the picture perfect landscaping. The Garden Tour adds to that beauty by giving you unprecedented access to the private gardens of 30+ homeowners in the South End. Many of the gardens you see on the tour aren't even visible from the street, so without the tour to guide you, would never know they're there.
