When I was in high school one of my favorite English teachers had us read a chapter from Junot Diaz's "Drown." I remember thinking his writing was s
I must confess, I don't watch "Mad Men." I know, I know.
I knew I wanted to see "Crazy, Stupid, Love." from the moment I saw the preview. Why you ask? Three words: Ryan Gosling's abs.
I love when my professional life introduces me to something I can enjoy in my personal life. Full disclosure, one of my clients told me about the new acoustic sessions being held at the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA). The MFA and local radio station, WFNX, have teamed up to present popular, musical acts live from the MFA galleries.
Back in 2010 when the blog was first nominated for the Boston A-List awards my incredibly supportive parents sent the link to vote to every single one of their friends. As a result, and much to my pleasant surprise, many of my parents' friends have become loyal readers.
One of my father's friends, a pal from architecture school, not only reads the blog, he frequently sends me emails about things he thinks I might enjoy. He's like my very own, personal Amazon.com or Netflix recommendation engine. The best part? He's always dead on.
This week I had the incredible pleasure of spending my work week in San Francisco! One of my clients was kind enough to fly me out to the west coast to staff a trade show and live blog, live tweet, shoot Instagram photos and network for them on-site at this major, industry event.
Tonight I went with my favorite concert buddy to see Rihanna's Loud tour.
This morning I read in the Wall Street Journal that a new exhibit is coming to the Museum of Fine Arts. I had wondered what could top Chihuly, and now I have my answer. Tomorrow, Tuesday July 19th, the museum will open the first gallery dedicated entirely to jewelry at a major U.S. art museum!
This week my mother is in town from Miami for work and is staying at the Inn @ St. Botolph in the South End. Knowing my commute from Brighton to Government Center every day is long, she invited me to stay with her!
We arrived at the Inn at 6:00pm. The Inn is located at the corner of West Newton Street and St. Botoloph Street. Each guest is given an access code for the front door and for your room - no keys! Every time you punch in the code you feel like you're part of a top secret operation.
One of the best parts of writing this blog is getting to meet new people, experience new places and discover new things. This week I was introduced to Dustin Todd Rennells, the creative director of Persona Jewelry in Kenmore Square. He let me know about an upcoming trunk show hosted by Persona Jewelry at the Hotel Commonwealth that will feature pieces from Atelier Minyon. The event announcement is below.
My sister went to school at the Savannah College of Art and Design and the first time I visited her every tour guide, store owner and waitress would
Hello, loyal readers! I have some incredible news to share. This morning I spoke with one of the producers of the "Your Town" section of Boston.com about an exciting opportunity to collaborate. She had stumbled upon my blog and was surprised to find such in-depth coverage of all the Boston neighborhoods. In particular, she was enamored with my post about the South End Garden Tour. In fact, she asked if she could create a photo slideshow for Boston.com using my images and captions!
