11 Gems to Explore on Cape Cod this Summer

I grew up spending at least one week of every summer on Cape Cod. When I was really little my grandparents rented the same house in Dennis every year. We'd all pile in - grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, toddlers and babies - for a week of beach days, seafood dinners and late night ice cream.

When I was in elementary school we started to stay further out in Truro. My parents, sister and I have been staying in the same house for over 20 years. We'll be going back for the whole last week of July and I can't wait.

Celebrate: 1 Year with Scout

Today marks exactly one year since Scout came into my life. I still remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the first time I saw him. It was a Thursday afternoon at work and we had just finished throwing a bridal shower for a coworker. A few of us were still in the conference room chatting and cleaning up when I decided to check to see if Northeast Animal Shelter had listed any new dogs since the last time I checked (which was . . . an hour before). I refreshed the page and this face was staring back at me:

Father's Day Gift Guide 2016

Father's Day is just two weeks away, so if you haven't picked out something special for Dad, it's time to get cracking!

I am very lucky that my dad is super easy to shop for. He has a wide range of interests, including: cooking, grilling, fishing, bike riding, basketball, cigars, rum and jazz music. Each year I actually spend more time trying to find a card that will make him laugh out loud than I do on the hunt for a gift.

If you're struggling to find a Dad-worthy present, I'm here to help.

Stream: Bloodline, Season 2

On Friday, May 27th Netflix released season 2 of "Bloodline," their thriller set in the Florida Keys. For the past week I've spent at least one hour a night watching new episodes and last night I finally finished!

For those who aren't familiar, "Bloodline" stars Kyle Chandler, a.k.a. Coach Eric Taylor from "Friday Night Lights," as one of five siblings untangling a mess of lies about his family.

*SPOILER ALERT! Please do not read on if you do not want to know anything about season 1 or season 2 of the show.*

Shop: Origins in Harvard Square

Growing up I spent a lot of time in Harvard Square. My mother is a Harvard alum and she used to take my sister and I into the square to bop around. She would show us where she and her friends used to live, point out notable campus buildings and of course, we'd shop 'til we dropped.

8 Must-Hit Food Festivals in New England This Summer

This weekend in Boston we finally got a true sense of spring when the temperature climbed to 80 degrees on Saturday. All that sunshine has me ready for driving with the windows down, patio dining, swimming pools, beach days, flip flops and sun dresses.

Read: Disrupted

You may know Dan Lyons as the former technology editor at Newsweek, as the sarcastic mind behind The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs or even as a writer for HBO's "Silicon Valley," but over the past few weeks his name has been on the lips of many Bostonians as the author of the newly released book "Disrupted: My Misadventures in the Start-Up Bubble." The book is a tell all about Lyons' time working as a "marketing fellow" at HubSpot, a Boston-based s

Explore: U.S. Virgin Islands

I have just returned from a luxurious long weekend in the U.S. Virgin Islands and I have to tell you, I fell in love. I have been to two other places in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico and the Dominic Republic, but neither of those tropical locales prepared me for the overwhelming, natural beauty of St. Thomas and St. John.

Mother's Day Gift Guide 2016

I can't believe I am saying this, but Mother's Day is only two weeks away! If you're like me and your mama lives out of state, you can't leave present shopping to the last minute because you need to build in time for your perfect finds to ship. Or if you are really crazy like me, you have to leave time for the item to ship to your house first, then wrap it, add the card you picked out, put it in a new box and ship it to her house.

I've scoured the internet for the best gifts for all the mamas in your life. Here are my top 8 picks for wow-ing on May 8th.

Stream: The People vs. O.J. Simpson

This past weekend I devoured all 10 episodes of the FX mini-series "The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story." When the murders were committed in June of 1994, I was in the fourth grade. I remember certain things like the live stream from the court room being on TV, the constant mentions of the white Ford Bronco and I really remember all of the scrunity around Marcia Clark's attitude and appearance.
