Mother's Day Gift Guide 2019

Since Passover and Easter were both so late this year, Mother's Day feels like it's coming up quickly! If you are struggling to find the perfect thing to celebrate the women in your life - mom, aunt, grandma, sister, best friend - don't panic! I've got you covered. 

I'm a huge snail mail person, and card selection is very important to me. I think a card with the right sentiment can move people to tears (or smiles, or laughter). Paper Source has great options this year. Here are three of my favorites. 

This card reminded me of my mom right away. When I was younger, she worked an extremely high-powered job (which I really didn't really understand at the time) and now, as an adult, I am so grateful for her knowledge and counsel. I admire her so much. 

I love this Queen Bee of Our Hive card! Perfectly timed with the release of Beyonce's Homecoming on Netflix. 

This purple Wisteria card made me think of my late grandmother, whose favorite color was purple. If you've seen pictures of my living room in the awards show / viewing party posts, you know that the walls are purple. That is so I can feel her around me every day. 

If you've been reading Pop.Bop.Shop. for a while, you know I am a huge fan of EHChocolatier, a local chocolate shop in Cambridge, MA run by two incredible women, Elaine and Catherine. Their tulip chocolates are not only beautiful and delicious, but they support a great cause. "From May 6-12, 100 percent of sales of our Pink Tulips for a Cause will be donated towards research dedicated to older patients with breast cancer who are under-represented in research and who have a higher chance of doing poorly from their breast cancer." 

To continue the pampering, consider this robe and slipper set from West Elm. My mom loves bathrobes (she easily has two dozen) and she's passed that onto my little sister. I really like this gray color, which is currently on sale - $40 dollars off! 

All of the women on my mom's side of the family are obsessed with jewelry, including my six-year-old cousin! This year I am loving Bauble Bar's Leia hoop earrings. These are a neutral color, so they go with everything. 

For the lady in your life who is counting down to pool and beach season, this tote from Cub + Scout holds a ton, is washable, and has a secret pouch inside (that's detachable) for your valuables. I gravitated towards this blue hue, called Amalfi, but it also comes in three other colors. 

Personally, I kill every plant I've ever touched, but if you're looking for something special for a green thumb gal, these gardening gloves from Terrain are beautiful and just $14 dollars. 

To display her blooms, I am obsessed with this wall vase from Magnolia Market. If it's good enough for Joanna Gaines . . .

Also in the floral theme, I made this incredible discovery on Uncommon Goods. How stunning are these vase bookends? I may have to get these for myself too. #sorrynotsorry 

If your mama is a tea drinker, this Jardin gift set from Tea Forte is a stunner. It comes with a beautiful mug and 10 tea bags.

If you live here in Boston, they also just opened a store on Newbury Street, so you can go in person and pick out tea blends you know your mom will love. All of their packaging is gorgeous, so there's no wrong choice! 

Lastly, for the mom who loves to host and entertain, this marble cheeseboard with copper handles is very sophisticated. 

Each year I like to include a gift for first-time moms, but what I've learned in having so many close friends have kiddos in the past few years is that the best gift you can give is offering to babysit. Give her time to do whatever she wants - take a shower, get her hair done, go grocery shopping, have a meal with her partner. Free time is a luxury when you have a little one!
