Today is the first day of May and Mother's Day is just around the corner. Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 14 to celebrate your mama!
Last year I shared the first-ever Pop.Bop.Shop. Mother's Day Gift Guide (at the suggestion of a reader) and I'm excited for year two.
All four generations of women on my mom's side of the family are obsessed with bling. If your mother or grandmother falls in that category too, check out these fun, spring-themed earrings from Kate Spade. I saw the pink version first and gasped, then I saw the blue option and gasped again!
Since it's almost beach season (a girl can dream), consider this stylish tote from Vince Camuto. Pom poms and tassels are all the rage again this year and I think this tote uses them tastefully.
Your mom will need a small pouch to go inside her beach tote (for her phone, keys, ice cream truck money) and I love these from paperCuttsdesigns on Etsy. If you think you want one of these, order it immediately, as Etsy orders tend to take a while to arrive.
For a day at the beach or the pool, your mom is going to need to stay hydrated. Anthropologie sells these gorgeous infuser water bottles. She can toss lemons, limes, berries or watermelon right into her H2O for an extra refreshing water break.
If your mom likes to entertain, she'll flip over these yvonneellen party plates on Etsy. There are numerous animal designs to choose from, but the giraffe and the flamingo are my favorites.
Another entertaining option is these blue and white gingham plates from Mark and Graham. Don't they just make you want to plan a picnic?
While on the Mark and Graham site I also found these striped tea cups with gold handles, which would be perfect for a coffee or tea addict.
For the wine or beer lover, I think these bottle openers are so cute, especially the one that says "Chin-Chin!"
Is your mother a candle collector? Rather than pick out yet another Yankee Candle, support a local business and order this lilac-scented candle from Vessel Candle Co. I always grab one of their new seasonal scents at Crompton Collective in Worcester, MA. You can order online from their Etsy shop.
If you have a friend who is celebrating her very first Mother's Day this year, this shirt is the perfect gift. It's so funny because it's so true. You can snag one from Francesca's.
I hope that these gift ideas have helped you to find something extra special for your mother, grandmother, aunt, friend or any other amazing lady in your life!
If you'll be in Boston on Sunday, May 14 and are looking for something to do with your mom, the Harvard University Arnold Arboretum is hosting its 109th Lilac Sunday, a celebration of one of spring's most beautiful and fragrant flowers. This year, Food Truck Festival of America will be rolling up to the Arboretum with 20 trucks, including some of my favorites - Bon Me, Frozen Hoagies, Roxy's Grilled Cheese, Sheherazad and Zinneken's Waffles. The event will run from 10:00am - 3:00pm, with the food trucks opening at 11:00am.
Cheers to all the mamas!
