Mother's Day always sneaks up on me. My mom's birthday is April 28, so after I've obsessed over the perfect gift for that, it seems like Mother's Day is two seconds later! This year the holiday is on Sunday, May 13.
While it's important to tell your mom how much you love and appreciate her all throughout the year, Mother's Day provides an opportunity to make her feel extra special. I had a great time hunting for unique card and gift ideas for this year's guide. I hope this list helps you zero in on something just right or sparks an idea for something new.
Let's start with cards (you know how I love snail mail). I found this first card on Etsy and I laughed out loud. The "mamaaaaaaa" line in Bohemian Rhapsody is so iconic. If your mom is a music lover, she'll think this is a hoot.
I am a huge fan of Rifle Paper Co. I get daily compliments on my iPhone case which is one of their designs. Their Super Mom card sends just the right message for that woman in your life who just seems to do it all.
I really love this card from the Emily McDowell Studio (I love all her cards, really). If your mom is a business badass, this sets just the right tone to thank her for showing you how to blaze your own trail.
Moving into some gift ideas, I want to talk about Greetabl. I recently spoke at Greentail Table in Newton and one of the guests at the event asked, "What is a quick, easy, yet still personal gift you can send in the mail?" With no hesitation I replied, "Do you know about Greetabl?" Greetabl is a company that allows you to send small gifts (items that could fit in the palm of your hand) in wrapping paper that has a fun design on one side and photos on the other. You just drag and drop in the pictures you want and poof! Custom wrapping paper. Greetabl has several new paper designs and gift items in honor of Mother's Day. Here's a quick look:
Note: Greetabl has not sponsored this post in any way, I am just truly in awe of how fun and easy it is to send gifts from their site.
If your mom likes to display things, I think these trinket bowls are precious. Great for keys, small jewelry or her favorite candy. One order comes with all four colors.
For the mama who loves bling (a.k.a. all the women in my family) these Kate Spade studs are great for spring. They're available in white or teal.
I'm also very into this Kate Spade bangle, which comes in three pretty pattern options.
Is your mom a frequent flyer? If she loves to travel, these beaded pouches from Mark & Graham are a fun way to pack jewelry or makeup for an upcoming trip.
Everything I know about entertaining I learned from my mom. If your mother is also a great hostess, consider gifting her these beautiful placemats from Hester & Cook. My favorites are the lemons and the hummingbirds.
For the mom who likes to start her morning with coffee or end her day with tea, consider these gorgeous brushstroke tea cups from West Elm. This cup and saucer set is currently 25% off with the code MUSTHAVES.
I have a lot of friends who became moms in the past year. If you're thinking about a gift for your bestie who is celebrating her first Mother's Day, Uncommon Goods make a custom photo reel viewer. Remember these from when we were kids? I had one with Mickey Mouse photos. You can personalize the reel with photos of your BFF and her kiddo.
