Gossip Girl: It Girl

Before I dive into my thoughts about tonight's episode of Gossip Girl can we please acknowledge the red, one piece, sweat suit Chuck was wearing in the opening scene? What the hell was that? He looked like he was wearing adult, feety pajamas.

As if the sweat suit wasn't enough to make me question my love for him, Chuck then admits to Nate he has a kangaroo tattoo. What?

After getting over the shock of Chuck's opening scene, I could focus on the plot at hand, Serena turning Lola into the new "it girl." Blair convinced Serena that if she could get Gossip Girl to turn the spotlight onto someone new, she would get a bit of a reprieve from Gossip Girl's harsh lens.

Though Serena tried to set up Lola, it turns out Lola and Nate were busy setting up Diana. Yes, despite our loathing, Diana returned. Why? I have no idea.

I'd like to thank the writers and the casting directors for bringing Aiden into our lives. He was positively gorgeous. Here's hoping this is a recurring role.

This hour Blair is forced to kiss her princess dreams goodbye and sign her divorce papers. Dan comes to find out that though Blair said the papers were nearly final, she hadn't signed them. Later, thanks to Nate's big mouth, Dan also finds out that Chuck paid Blair's dowry. Dan then spills the beans to Blair.

At the close of the episode Dan takes Blair to the steps of the Met, crowns her with a faux tiara and nudges her to enjoy her last day as a princess. I have to admit, that was incredibly sweet. I will always be a Chuck and Blair fan, but this gesture definitely earned Dan a few points.

While on the steps of the Met Blair gets swarmed by a group of middle school girls who are an explosion of "pop of color." I think they'd even be too much for Brad Goreski.

The episode came to an end and left me with two major questions: first, if Elizabeth didn't donate the blood to Chuck, who did? Has Bart risen from the dead? Is there another Bass sibling we don't know about? Second, are Lily and Rufus going to drift apart because they don't see eye to eye about Ivy? It seems like their priorities aren't aligned.

What do you think - who donated the blood that saved Chuck?
