GLEE: Gwyneth Goes Gleek

Though I watch religiously, I don't blog about GLEE every week. I have written about each season's premiere and some stand out episodes, but tonight I feel I have to give props.

Gwyneth Paltrow, academy award winning film actress and the wife of international rock superstar Chris Martin of Coldplay, guest starred tonight as substitute teacher Holly Holiday and she killed it. Absolutely murdered it. Her version of Cee Lo's "F*** You" was one of the best performances I've seen on the show. Ever.

In addition to her stellar showing in all three musical numbers (including dancing!), her comedic presence, timing and delivery was epic. I actually laughed out loud.

There have been several A-list guest stars on the show - Britney Spears, Neil Patrick Harris, Idina Menzel, John Stamos - but for me, Gwyneth takes the cake. Thank you, Ryan Murphy, for showing me Gwyneth in a new, amazing light. I will be keeping this episode in my DVR for as long as I have this cable box.

And now my loyal readers, a special treat! A friend emailed me the link to this YouTube video and I know you are going to love it! It is Darren Criss (Blaine) singing an acoustic version of "Teenage Dream" at a club in Los Angeles. Prepare to swoon:

See you next week when Kurt and Finn's parents get hitched!
