Dining Out: Isabella's

This past weekend I was in New York City to celebrate Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year) with my family. My sister and brother-in-law live in Harlem and my parents flew up from Miami, FL so we could all be together.

I got into town on Friday night and I spent all day Saturday visiting some of my best friends from childhood. My first stop was a friend's new apartment (she just moved in with her boyfriend). From their new place at 72nd and Columbus we walked up a few streets for brunch.

Dining Out: Temple Bar (Part II)

There is a quiet strip of Massachusetts Avenue that runs between Harvard Square and Porter Square that has become home to some of the city's best restaurants - The Abbey, Giulia, Temple Bar, West Side Lounge - just to name a few. While you may have to walk 10-15 minutes from

Dining Out: Rail Trail Flatbread Co.

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's post about New City Microcreamery in Hudson, MA. I think I've re-read the post about 15 times and I get excited all over again every time.

As I mentioned yesterday, New City Microcreamery was actually the second venture for co-owners Karim El-Gamal and Michael Kasseris. Their first baby, also in Hudson, is called Rail Trail Flatbread Co.

Sugar Fix: New City Microcreamery

When you've lived in the same city for a long time and you dine out often, combing for new places is a bit like trolling Match.com. You have to ask yourself, "How far am I willing to set my radius to find the one?" Is it five miles? Ten miles? Twenty five miles?

Dining Out: Dumpling Daughter

My love of Chinese food goes all the way back to early childhood. When I was a little girl we used to eat with my grandparents at a place called South Pacific in Newton, MA. I have such happy memories of all of us sitting around a big table, passing plates and stuffing our faces. At the end of the meal, when the check would arrive, my grandfather would grab all the fortune cookies. He would open them one at a time and read a single fortune to each person. Somehow they all managed to say things like, "You will hug your grandfather every time you see him."

Dining Out: The Sinclair Kitchen (Part II)

If you've been reading Pop.Bop.Shop. for a while, you already know that Sunday brunch is my favorite meal of the week. When I learned that The Sinclair in Harvard Square had started serving brunch, I rushed to check it out.

My first trip to The Sinclair for brunch did not get photographed because when we sat down, I took my camera out of my purse and was immediately greeted with a message on the screen that read, "battery depleted." #Fail

Dining Out: Whim Dinner At Smolak Farms

Guys, I don't mean to brag, but I am crushing these new year's resolutions.

You may recall that back in January I shared with you my list of 15 resolutions for 2015. Number eight on that list was "Experience a farm dinner."

Sip: Ogawa Coffee

I'm not normally a coffee drinker, but about two weeks ago I started to see photos popping up on Instagram of the most gorgeous coffee drinks I'd ever seen. Curious, I clicked through the tags and each time the source was the same - Ogawa Coffee.

Ogawa Coffee is a new addition to the Downtown Crossing neighborhood. The shop is located on Milk Street in between Downtown Crossing (near the Walgreens) and Post Office Square.

Dining Out: Rama's Kitchen

After a full week in Israel, my parents, sister and brother-in-law boarded planes back to the States, but I stayed an extra three days to have some quality time with one of my oldest and dearest friends. She moved to Israel after graduating college and now lives in Be'er Sheva with her husband and two beautiful children.

The morning we were meeting up I took a train from Tel Aviv to Beit Shemesh. She was there waiting for me (right on the track!) and we hopped in her car to drive to a mystery brunch spot.

Dining Out: Benedict

During my family's Israel trip, we had incredible luck with restaurants. We spent a few weeks gathering recommendations from family and friends on where we should dine out in each of the neighborhoods we'd be exploring.

Dining Out: Suzana

On our Israel trip, it seemed that with each restaurant we went to, my family would describe their dishes as "the best XYZ I've ever had!" Truly, each time we went somewhere it was even better than the place before.

That trend continued at an outdoor cafe called Suzana in a neighborhood of Tel Aviv called Neve Tzedek.

Dining Out: Goocha

In advance of our Israel trip, we asked our family and friends for restaurant recommendations that would be walking distance from our rental apartment. Everyone - both locals and those who had visited recently - insisted we make a reservation at Goocha on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv.

I have no idea why, but the word "Goocha" is just so fun to say! When my sister would say it she'd add a little jig.
