I have always loved Valentine's Day. Though many people believe this holiday was designed by card companies and flower delivery services to make bank, I think it's wonderful to have one day each year when you go out of your way to tell the most important people in your life how much you love them.
If you're planning to surprise your significant other, family or friends with Valentine's Day gifts, I have 14 ideas for how to wow them on February 14th.
Let's start with cards. I laughed out loud when I saw this "You're My Everything" design on Etsy. This card is a bit pricey ($6 dollars) but worth it if you share an obsession with this oh-so-delicious bagel.
Chocolate is a traditional gift for this holiday, but I like to mix it up. Rather than buy one of those corny heart shaped boxes at CVS, order these muslin gift bags on Etsy. For $13 dollars you get 15 bags. Buy candy at the grocery store and then divide it up into this adorable pouches for your best friends, co-workers or people like your babysitter or dog walker.
I don't drink coffee, so in the winter I rely on hot cocoa to keep me warm. These heart shaped hot chocolate sticks come with chocolate (that melts into hot water or milk) and a pink, heart shaped marshmallow. One order on Etsy will cost you $20 dollars. Each order comes with four sticks.
You are going to need a mug for that hot chocolate. These two ceramic mugs had me giggling. Choose from "Cute AF" or "Dat Beard" designs. Each mug is $16 dollars on Etsy.
If those fresh phrases aren't quite your style, these Harry Potter mugs are adorable. Snag the pair for $27.99 on Amazon.
Jewelry is a pretty popular Valentine's Day gift among couples, but I love the idea of a bauble for your best single friend. This bangle from Kate Spade has a special message engraved inside. It says "Unlock my heart."
For something with extra sparkle, this Rockstud ring from BaubleBar will do the trick. It's brass casting, gold plating and two druzy stones. The ring is $36 dollars.
For the most important guy in your life, gift him the perfect Valentine red sweater to wear to your dinner reservation on the 14th. This Old Navy one is $25 dollars.
If you have nieces or nephews, Valentine's Day is such a fun occasion to shower them with attention. How sweet is this heart dress from Old Navy? It's just $18 dollars.
These love bug PJs (also Old Navy) are just too adorable! It's $12.50 for the set.
Up your nephew's style game with these red color block high tops. Score them for $14.99.
You know I can't have a gift guide without some ideas for the dog. These pup Valentines are super cute. Scout has a lot of other dog friends and he might like to send them a little snail mail. This package of 12 cards is $9.25 on Etsy.
Scout's favorite game is tug of war, so I have my eye on this XOXO rope from the BarkShop. If it doesn't come in our February BarkBox, I am definitely going to order it! Hours and hours of play time awaits with this $14 dollar toy.
