Today is February 1st which can only mean one thing . . . it's time to talk about Valentine's Day!
Though I have been single for many years, I still love Valentine's Day. I think there is something really sweet about taking time to celebrate the people you love most.
Last year I shared a Valentine's Day Gift Guide for All the Single Ladies. This year I wanted to offer you options for all the special people in your life.
Let's start with cards. I don't think there is a person on the planet who loves snail mail more than me. I take great pride in hand selecting the perfect card. For your bestie, send this homage to two of the greatest girls on the planet, Blair and Serena.
There is also a "Grey's Anatomy" version that says "You're the Meredith to my Cristina."
If you're looking for a card for your significant other, I am obsessed with these food pun cards from Etsy shop LoveNCreativity. They have about a dozen choices, but this pho card stole my heart.
I'm also partial to the "I'm soy into you" card.
I know candy hearts are a traditional V-Day treat, but am I the only one that thinks they actually taste kind of disgusting? In place of the chalky candy hearts, gift these adorable candy heart soaps.
After I found these soaps, I fell down a cute soap rabbit hole. How precious are these pink popsicle soaps? They are strawberry scented.
I also like these heart and stripes soaps, which would be perfect for your bathroom or kitchen sink if you are hosting a Galentine's Day party.
Speaking of hosting, if you have a friend who has just moved into a new place or you and your significant other have recently shacked up, consider this heart welcome mat.
If you and your partner are long distance, gift this pair of phone cases so you can think of each other every time your phone is in your hand (a.k.a. every second).
I squealed with glee when I discovered this set of mugs, a nod to Lisa Kudrow and Paul Rudd's characters on "Friends." If you and your mate share a love of the long-running comedy, this seems like a no brainer.
If you and your honey have ever carved your initials into a tree, bring that romantic moment home with these custom birch candles.
When it comes to picking out a gift for your man, it can get tricky. Guys aren't typically into flowers, heart shaped boxes of chocolate or candelit dinners. However, they will definitely be into a man crate. What is a man crate you ask? It's a wooden crate stuffed with snacks, gadgets, gear and/or video games. Each box is themed and ships with a crowbar to open it. Yes, seriously. Here is a photo of the hickory grilling crate:
And the hot and spicy crate:
On Valentine's Day I also like to send suprises to my nieces and nephews. If you have a kiddo in your life who likes to draw or color, check out these pink and red twig pencils.
Add a little extra love-fueled super power with this royal purple cape, decorated with a pink heart and a lightning bolt.
Now you know I couldn't have a gift guide without suggesting something for the pooch. How cute are these red and pink tennis balls that say "Sweet Heart" and "Be Mine"? These are available on Amazon.
And there you have it! My picks for the best Valentine's gifts this year. I hope this list has helped you zero in on something extra special for your boo.
