Shop: Stina Persson

Over the past two or three years I've becoming much more interested in art. I joined the Museum of Fine Arts as a member, I've been frequenting the ICA and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and since buying my house last July I am always on the look out for new art work to hang on my walls.

Last week I was gushing with my coworker over the illustrations of a friend (check out her work at Paper Fashion) and she asked if I had ever seen the work of the artist Stina Persson. I hadn't, so we looked up her website together and my jaw hit the floor.

Stina Persson is an illustrator based in Stockholm, Sweden. Her work has been commissioned by Harper's Baazar, Elle, Marie Claire, Nylon and more. She has also done custom work for Coca Cola, Absolut Vodka, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, DKNY and Target, just to name a few.

She has a stunning gallery on her website and the very first piece featured jumped out at me right away. Though this sketch is black and white, its high drama gives it major impact.

This watercolor piece has a very Jimi Hendrix vibe.

I love what she did here with the perfume bottles. This piece would look gorgeous in a bathroom or walk in closet (a girl can dream).

I squealed when I saw Stina had a piece focused on heels. How gorgeous is this one? The mixture of the feminine heels with bows and the patterned tights is so fun and girly.

In addition to the fashion focused pieces, Stina also has an entire section of her gallery called Handwritten. In there I found this gem, which would make a perfect gift for a bride. I could easily see giving this at an engagement party of bridal shower.

Thanks to my coworker for giving me a new artist to follow and a new reason to save my pennies!

What do you think of Stina Persson's work? Are you as obsessed as I am?
