Listen: Spring Playlist

Hi, friends. I am sorry it has been so long since my last post. As many of you know, I live in Watertown, the area that was dramatically affected by the man hunt on Friday. Several of you have asked if I plan to write about my experience. I would like to, but right now it's just too fresh.

I know I could really use a pick-me-up. How about you?

On that note, I bring you my freshly updated, spring playlist. I recently found myself sick of all the songs on my iPod so I gave my tunes a little upgrade. Here is what I am loving right now.

Emeli Sande, "Next to Me" - Already a sensation in Europe, Emeli Sande has arrived in the U.S. with this diva anthem. I play this song every morning while I get ready for work and it totally pumps me up. I triple dog dare you not to sing along to the "Woo hoo hoo" parts. This song is best listened to at maximum volume.

Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis, "Can't Hold Us" - Chances are you're already lowering your voice and singing along to Mackelmore's "Thrift Shop," but this jam is even better. The beat is infectious. This is a great song for driving with the windows down as you cruise down the highway.

Tegan and Sara, "Closer" - I fell in love with this song when I saw the ladies perform it on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. When I listen to it I feel like I'm the star of an 80s rom com.

Boyce Avenue, "Glad You Came" (Cover) - A few years ago one of my college friends introduced me to Boyce Avenue, a group that does acoustic covers of pop songs. They revamped The Wanted's "Glad You Came" and it's much better than the original. Judge if you must, but I am really into this. I listen to it on the T to drown out all the cell phone conversations happening around me.

Phillip Phillips, "Gone, Gone, Gone" - You couldn't avoid his song "Home" last summer and now the American Idol winner is out with a new tune that is like a shot of happiness straight to the veins. I'll be adding this to my summer BBQ playlist. It's the perfect soundtrack for grub and games in the backyard.

Those are my current favorites. Anything you are loving that I should add to my playlist?
