Listen: Mike Tompkins Covers Adele

If you read this blog regularly than you already know I love Adele. I've been faithfully listening to her music for years, but I am particularly obsessed with her album "21" which I have been singing along to for over a year now.

Since I can never get enough Adele, it always thrills me when someone covers one of her songs in a new, unique and interesting way.

I first saw this video on Facebook when one of my friends shared it on her younger sister's wall. I saw the word "Adele" and just clicked not really knowing that to expect. This is what hit my eyes and ears:

In this video a capella wizard Mike Tompkins sings and plays all the instruments for Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" with just his voice! I love that he labeled each "instrument" so you could parcel it out. How fun is that video?

In more Adele news, the songbird herself tweeted on Tuesday January 31st that after a successful recovery from throat surgery (right here in Boston) she will return to the stage for this first time on Sunday February 12th at the Grammy awards.

The Grammy website confirmed her appearance with this post on their site:

I was already excited for the show, but now I am absolutely going to tune in and stay glued until my girl takes the stage. I am guessing she'll sing "Set Fire to the Rain" which is her current radio single here in the States.

I loved this Mike Tompkins cover so much that I am dying to know - who performs your favorite cover?
