Live: Catwalk For A Cure

A few weeks ago I received an invitation from Persona Jewelry to attend an event in their store benefiting Catwalk for a Cure. You my remember my previous post about Persona Jewelry where I lusted after several pieces from Atelier Minyon who was having a trunk show at their store.

Tonight I arrived at the Hotel Commonwealth (where Persona is located) and before even enterting the store itself, I was struck by the beauty of the hotel lobby.

I walked through the door to Persona at around 6:15pm and was greeted by two kind ladies at a registration table. Admission to the event was free, but there was a donation box for Catwalk for a Cure. After checking in we began walking around the store scoping out the goods. I fell in love with one of the first pairs of earrings I saw. Please excuse the glare from the glass case!

I eventually found my way to a case that had several funky bracelets. I love one in particular that had black beads with one gold, glittering bead (the fifth in from the left). Simple but elegant.

At the far end of the store I discovered these incredibly shiny, black rose earrings. I love love love these! Again, please excuse the glare from the glass case.

Near the back door to the store were three glittering bangles. I need these. Take one look at them, they belong with me.

In addition to the jewels, Persona also has some home decor items. I swooned when I saw these patterned candles. They almost look like animal print!

During the cocktail hour before the fashion show there was wine available from Four Sisters. We sampled the Sauvignon Blanc which was tasty. I loved the pink labels and the pink cups!

There were also pink cocktails from Bulldog gin. The drink was ok, but the star of the table was the Bulldog bottle. It has a studded collar! Come on. Amazing.

In addition to the wine and gin drinks, there was a lovely spread of snacks in front of a large window overlooking Kenmore Square.

As the night went on and the sun went down, you could see the Citgo sign in all its glory. A very "I love Boston" moment.

At 7:40pm we were escorted into another room for the fashion show. There were several seats reserved for fashion bloggers which had gift bags keeping them warm. A serious thank you to Persona Jewelry and the rest of the event sponsors for the supremely generous contents of this bag!

This room was beautiful. It had the most delicate light fixtures.

After about ten minutes of waiting (and listening to Adele) the show began! The show featured outfits by three designers: Julie Kontos, Drea Couture and Candice Wu. Each designer showed three to four looks. Unfortunately there was no indication of whose looks were whose! Though the designers did take the finale walk with their models, we still had no idea who was who.

I love this ornate coat which was worn over a simple black dress and styled with black, peep toe boots. Not only was this coat a serious attention-grabber, the model had just the right amount of sass and attitude. She was workin' it!

My favorite look was this black, one shoulder dress that was cinched at the waist with a piano pattern. I took piano for several years as a kid, so maybe it's nostalgia, but I really gravitated towards this design.

The fashion show seemed to fly by too quickly. I wanted to hit "replay" and see it again! I also wanted to get a closer look at the gorgeous, wide, brightly colored bangles that seemed to be accessorizing many of the looks. Can I have those express shipped right to my front door?

Thank you to Dustin and Irina from Persona Jewelry, Bryan from Catwalk for a Cure and all of the event sponsors for a wonderful night of fashion, style, support for young designers and most importantly, fundraising for a great cause.
