I was first introduced to the glass work of artist Dale Chihuly at the Fairchild Tropical Gardens in Miami. I fell in love with the vibrant colors and the bold shapes. I find his work incredibly brave and unique.
Almost a year later I saw his work again, this time in the lobby at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. All around me people stopped to take pictures of the gorgeous, flower covered ceiling.
The following year I saw another one of his sculptures ablaze above the casino floor in the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas.
Chihuly seems to be following me everywhere I go and now he has followed me home to Boston! Beginning April 10th, a Chihuly exhibit will be unveiled at the Museum of Fine Arts titled "Through the Looking Glass." The museum tweeted a photo of one of the first sculptures being assembled:
If you have never seen Chihuly's work in person, you must visit this exhibit (plus, the new wing of the museum has only been open a few weeks and that alone is worth exploring). The Chihuly exhibit will be on display in the Gund Gallery through August 7th.
