American Idol: Diamond In The Rough

This week, the American Idol audition tour stopped in Austin, TX and Los Angeles, CA. Overall it was a week full of joke performances (which I hate). During Wednesday's show, I was about to roll my eyes for the 20th time when a star emerged! Casey Abrams, a seemingly sheepish, nerdy guy opened his mouth and belted Ray Charles' "I Don't Need No Doctor." Check it out:

Holy moly! I love this kid!

Thursday's night show was a complete waste of time, however I did enjoy the second to last performance, a duet by brothers Mark and Aaron Gutierrez. They sang "Lean on Me" and had an infectious energy. I don't think they have the best voices, but they sure are fun to watch!

Also, I can't talk about last night without mentioning Jennifer Lopez's wardrobe. What was she wearing on her head? It was incredibly distracting! Yikes.

Next week the final audition tour stop is in San Francisco, CA. Thursday night's show will be the first round of Hollywood week!
