Travel: Atlantis

This past week I spent Thursday - Sunday at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. I had never been to the Bahamas and I fell in love immediately! Every single person I came in contact with was high energy, smiling and constantly asking if I was enjoying myself or saying goodbye and wishing me a wonderful rest of my trip. Talk about hospitality!

The Atlantis resort is like no other place I have stayed before. It was a whimsical fusion of two of my previous vacations - Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Las Vegas. Meaning, it combines the heavenly, beach front location with constant stimulation and endless entertainment options.

Not only is the Atlantis spread across the shore of a breathtaking, clear water beach, but it also has multiple swimming pools, tidal pools with marine life and floor to ceiling aquariums. I want to shake the hand of the Atlantis' landscape architect.

In addition to the beaches, pools, and aquatic creatures, Atlantis has a plethora of restaurants and bars. My best meal was at the Atlas Bar and Grill which is know for its delicious burgers and french fries.

The resort also has a casino with table games and rows and rows of slot machines (who can resist?). You can walk through the casino to the marina, which was one of my favorite places in the resort. There are restaurants and shops along the boardwalk and you can walk right in front of all the yachts docked at the resort. Often people are dining or having drinks on their boat and it makes for superb people watching.

If you have the opportunity to vacation at the Atlantis it is worth every penny. Each aspect of the resort is incredible, supremely well maintained and run by a staff who welcomes each visitor with open, embracing arms. The natural beauty of the beaches is undeniable and I am positive you will leave feeling happy and relaxed.

What are you waiting for? Book it!
