Happy Valentine's Day! I can't think of anything better to discuss today than Fifty Shades Freed, the third and final film in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. In case you missed them, here are my reviews of the first film and the second.
*SPOILER ALERT!*
I read the books so long ago that as I was heading to the theater I could only recall two things from the final book: Anastasia and Christian get married, and later on, Ana gets abducted by her former boss, Jack.
As the opening credits rolled, Anastasia was being zipped into her stunning wedding dress (seriously, I might need to track it down in real life, you know, for planning my hypothetical wedding).
The wedding scenes are quick, followed by Anastasia and Christian fleeing the reception to jet off to their honeymoon. In that shot, Ana is wearing the most gorgeous, perfectly tailored pant suit. I need all of the outfits.
As the Greys explore France, Greece and beyond, I couldn't help but want to immediately fly away from freezing cold Boston!
This third installment includes all the steamy scenes you'd expect, as well as one that involves a pint of ice cream. I may never be able to look at Ben or Jerry the same way again.
For me, the highlights of the movie were the incredible scenic shots (you may want to move to the Pacific Northwest after you watch this) and all of Ana's clothes. I want her character's entire wardrobe.
Of all three films in the series, this one was my least favorite. I laughed a few times, I most definitely blushed every time Jamie Dornan took his clothes off, but it just wasn't as entertaining or fun as the previous two. I say save your pennies and wait for it to hit Amazon Prime or Netflix.
