When I was in elementary school my mother worked for WGBH, Boston's PBS station. As a result, we became a total WGBH family. We proudly wore branded t-shirts and tote bags, attended the annual ice cream festival (I even had a birthday party there one year) and watched all the kids TV shows. In fact, when I found out they were canceling my favorite show, Ghostwriter, I wrote a letter to the head of the network to beg him to change his mind.
Now, as an adult, I live a short five minute drive from WGBH's beautiful offices and studio on Guest Street in Brighton, MA. This year I've already attended two great events - BostonTalks (the topic was urban farming) and I sat in on a taping of the new TV show Point Taken.
I look forward to so many of WGBH's events, but especially their Food & Wine Festival. This year the festival is taking place from Thursday, September 15 - Sunday, September 18, 2016.
The crown jewel of the festival schedule is on Saturday, September 17 called Artisan Taste. 27,000 square feet of the WGBH studio lot will be transformed into a food mecca! Chefs will be providing delicious bites, live cooking demos and several will be signing their cookbooks.

The event also features a live music lineup that includes performers such as Will Dailey, Aly Tadros and Big Jon Short.
To give you a sense for some of the superstar culinary talent planned for the day, below are some of the highlights.
Rachel Wegman

Andy Husbands
Andy Husbands is a chef, restaurateur, author and television personality. Currently, he is executive chef/owner of the restaurants Tremont 647 and Sister Sorel in Boston’s South End. He came into the national spotlight in 2009 as a contestant on Season 6 of Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay. He recently opened The Smoke Shop in Kendall Square in Cambridge.
Mary Ann Esposito
Mary Ann Esposito is an American chef and the television host of Ciao Italia with Mary Ann Esposito, which started in 1989 and is the longest-running television cooking program in America. Esposito has published over a dozen cookbooks.
Barry Maiden
Maiden, named Best Chef: Northeast in 2015, was executive chef at dearly departed Hungry Mother, as well as its sister restaurant State Park. After seven years within the group, Maiden announced his departure to pursue other restaurant projects. Look forward to a peek at what he’s been up to when he visits the Fort Point kitchen.
Kevin Dundon
In County Waterford, Ireland, across the estuary from Kevin’s home in Wexford lies the small fishing port of Dunmore East. Older than the sea itself, this wonderful village is known for the delicious, fresh scallops and seafood. Chef Kevin Dundon will present a live demo focused on creating an elegant dish of scallops with a flaky pastry base drizzled with a fresh arugula pesto.
