Stay: The Eventi Hotel

Recently I've been thinking about renaming the blog Pop.Bop.Shop.Flop. as in, flop into bed. I have been traveling so much lately and I am exhausted! Often times I roll into a city, have about 15 minutes to change for an event, spend hours on my feet, entertain clients at meals into the wee hours of the morning and then finally, usually sometime around 2am or 3am, I flop into my hotel bed.

Given that I usually only get to power nap in my hotel, I've become pretty picky about where I stay. Whenever the choice is mine, I always opt to stay at a Kimpton Hotel.

I stayed at my first Kimpton back in July 2011. It was the Hotel Palomar in San Francisco. Soon after, I discovered 70 Park in New York, which has become my go-to.

On my most recent work trip, I stayed at the Eventi Hotel in New York. Though I hated to cheat on 70 Park, we were only in the city for 14 hours and we needed to be close to Penn Station. The Eventi Hotel is at 30th and 6th Avenue, just three short blocks from the train.

We checked into our rooms at our 6:15pm and the sun was beaming in through the windows.

I had a nice, big, fluffy bed with a dramatic headboard.

Against one wall was the TV and a nice desk area.

I love the elaborate pattern on the fabric of the chair.

I also had a cozy reading nook. How cute that the lamp is attached to the chair.

This hotel room had a bathroom fit for a queen.

There was a simple line drawing on the bathroom wall and because it was mounted on glass, it looked like it was hovering.

The shower was enormous! It had a wooden bench, you know, for whatever you might need to prop up, as well as racks of plush white towels.

The sink offered plenty of counter space, which was necessary because I had to get ready super quickly for our event that evening. I was traveling with two male coworkers who could not possibly understand how much time it takes to go from a train outfit to a formal event outfit.

As always, the Kimpton toiletries were beautifully packaged.

I especially love their signature list that reads, "Forgot it? We've got it!"

In the closet was the calling card of every Kimpton property - the animal print robes.

In addition to the animal print robes, every Kimpton offers complimentary happy hour for guests from 5pm - 6pm, 24 hour room service and concierge, as well as some of the best customer service in the business.

Also, have a dog? No problem. They welcome them!

The Eventi Hotel was the perfect place to rest my head on this whirlwind trip. The staff were super friendly, I had a gorgeous view from the 16th floor and you really can't beat the location.

Have you every stayed in a Kimpton? Are you a loyalist like me?
