Stay: The Mansion On Forsyth Park

Earlier this week I shared with you the DIY Bridesmaid Gift Bags I made for my sister's bachelorette party. As I mentioned, we all headed to Savannah, GA to celebrate our bride-to-be.

My sister graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design and never turns down the chance to return to the idyllic town. When it came to researching a place to stay for the weekend, I already knew where we would wind up, the Mansion.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park is so well known in town that when you arrive at the airport and hop in a cab, you simply say, "I'm going to the Mansion." No need to clarify which mansion. Everyone just knows.

When you pull into the round driveway (a sign of true elegance and luxury) a monogrammed courtyard welcomes you.

The lobby shines brightly thanks to a gorgeous chandelier.

Chandeliers are surprisingly common in Savannah. I noticed them everywhere we went.

The lobby certainly makes a statement with ivory statues, decorative columns and gilded furniture.

To the left of the lobby is the hotel bar.

The back wall of the bar serves as the hotel's art gallery. All of these works are available for purchase.

Behind the bar is a model ship. Have you ever seen the ship exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston? This one belongs in that collection.

Also off the lobby is the entrance to the hotel pool. Even the tent that covers the outdoor patio has a chandelier!

The pool area is small, but feels very private. I love the way the palm threes poke up over the wall.

When we checked in around 11:30am our rooms were not yet ready, but the front desk offered to call my cell phone as soon as they were. They happily stored our luggage and they did call the moment the rooms were clean (around 2:00pm).

We had two rooms and though I never specified that I'd like them to be directly next to each other, the hotel just gave us adjoining rooms. How nice!

Both of our rooms were on the first floor, just steps from the lobby. The hallway leading to our front doors had brightly striped curtains and a row of graphic, painted portraits.

This guy, who looks just like Andy Warhol, was right outside our door.

When I opened the door to our room I almost fell over. It was unbelievable!

The room had two queen beds and everything about the set up made me feel like a princess.

The oversized head boards made the room feel so grand. The addition of the fur blankets (faux fur, don't worry), also upped the glam factor.

Each bed had five pillows. I couldn't ever even use that many!

Between our princess beds was a mirrored night table topped with a glass reading lamp.

We had a huge entertainment unit, though we never once turned on the TV.

The piece had very ornate drawer pulls.

Up against the windows, beyond our beds, was a green chaise lounge. My sister basically spent the entire time at the hotel on that chair.

Our desk area was quite fancy.

The mirror over the table was like a fun house mirror and somehow made our room look even bigger.

While most hotels offer water, coffee or other light fare, the Mansion offers wine!

I could not get over this "Beauty and the Beast" style light fixture, clearly meant as mood lighting, which came with a dimmer. It made me want to pick it up, swing it around the room and sing "Be Our Guest."

Though we were on the first floor, we still had a great view. The sun woke us up every morning and we could see straight to Forsyth Park.

As if our bedroom wasn't enough, the bathroom took it to a whole other level.

Even the bathroom sink had chandeliers!

The mirror over the sink was a fixed to the wall with these beautiful, glass flowers.

The pretty details continued with the toiletries. I love the apple red and gold combination.

Now for the best part, our shower. It has three shower heads. Not one, not two, but three!

Both times I showered in there I turned on all three heads just because I could!

The shower was also packed with fluffy white towels and more perfectly packaged toiletries.

Our toilet had its own separate room, complete with a work of art.

We also had a third area of the bathroom that was just a vanity with a tuffet.

There were additional bath products on the vanity for your relaxation pleasure.

Just outside the bathroom door we had a little breakfast cart. It had bottled water and a coffee maker. I love that even that area was decorated with another painting.

Both of our rooms at the Mansion were exquisite. We came to the hotel for an extra special event and the rooms truly rose to the occasion.

Additionally, the entire staff wowed us time and time again, helping with walking directions, calling taxi cabs and taking our picture multiple times throughout the weekend. I cannot say enough about their hospitality.

If you're thinking about a trip to Savannah, you must treat yourself to a stay at the Mansion.
