New York Fashion Week: Spring 2012

We are currently in the middle of New York Fashion Week. Twice a year the world's best designers and all their celebrity fans descend on New York City to get a front row seat for their runway reveals. For those of us unable to attend (translation = not invited) we have the superb media coverage to keep us informed. My informants of choice are: Elizabeth Holmes of the Wall Street Journal (follow her on Twitter @EHolmesWSJ) and the team at the Cut blog for New York magazine. Thanks to their diligent coverage, I am able to bring you my favorites!

Let's start with Jason Wu. Dear lord, I love his designs. Though I could never wear this first outfit, I think it's fabulous. It says to me "naughty secretary."

I like the canary yellow color of this dress and the sheer neckline:

Many pieces in the collection has this ruffled bubble which was super feminine:

The grand finale . . . the pink ball gown! Swoooooon.

I discovered the new collection from Luca Luca via Elizabeth Holmes' live tweets during the show. She tweeted a photo of this black and white, polka dot dress and I was mesmerized:

Many of the looks in Luca Luca's collection are all white. It is difficult to make an all white outfit pop, but somehow the design, texture and shape of these looks scream "fierce."

In addition to the all white looks, there were also several brightly colored dresses. I'm lusting after all three of these, but particularly the cobalt blue gown, which would be perfect for my next black tie wedding!

Jumpsuits? Sure, why not! Especially when they look like this!

Lastly, I am madly in love with this two piece suit and the pink belt! I need this outfit.

In addition to the beautiful clothes, I also fawned over every single pair of shoes the models were wearing! Very well done, Luca Luca.
