Sugar Fix: EHChocolatier Passover Candy

I think it's safe to say I am EHChocolatier's biggest fan. The Somerville chocolate makers, Elaine Hsieh and Catharine Sweeney, create the most delicious, decadent confections that are almost too beautiful to eat (almost!).

In the fall of 2012 I participated in their first ever CSC (that's like a CSA, but chocolate instead of fruits and veggies), in October I introduced you to their Boston Icon Box and last month I shared their adorable bunnies, chicks and eggs for Easter. Today I overjoyed to announce that they are doing a Passover collection! 

Chocolate covered matzah is a very popular dessert for this holiday and EHChocolatier is doing their own version with a dark chocolate matzah bark. Each piece is topped with candied orange, crystalized ginger and pistachios. 

They are also making an almond toffee chocolate matzah, finished with a sprinkle of fleur de sel. Yes, please! 

In addition to chocolate covered matzah, coconut macaroons are another tradition Passover dessert. EHChocolatier has put their own twist on the classic Passover macaroon with this creation.

According to the website, "To celebrate Passover we adapted our popular Coconutty Bar and created our own version of the classic coconut macaroon. Think Almond Joy in the shape of a haystack. We've chopped up our roasted, salted almonds to add to the texture and dipped them in dark chocoalte with a dash of sea sealt to balance the sweet." Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard. 

Last but not least, the dark chocolate hazelnut bark is also a great choice. It makes an especially nice hostess gift if someone is welcoming you into their home for one of the seders. 

Passover beings at sundown on Friday, April 22nd so you have exactly two weeks to order your favorite EHChocolatier goodies to bring to family and friends (or to have around the house when regular matzah just won't cut it).
