If you've been reading Pop.Bop.Shop. for a while, you already know I am a huge fan of Shake Shack. Though I normally only write about a restaurant on my first visit, this is my sixth post about the Shack.
In the coming weeks, Shake Shack will open its first location in Austin, TX. In honor of the newest Shack baby, they are rolling out one of the Austin specials at two of our Massachusetts locations! Beginning today and for all of this week (while supplies last) you can order the Austin, TX Shake Shack special called the Lockhart Link Burger.
The Lockhart Link Burger is a cheeseburger topped with a griddled jalapeño cheese sausage link from Lockhart, Texas' Kreuz Market (a Texas BBQ spot that's been around since 1900), ShackSauce and pickles.
Look at that puppy! I kind of wanted to snatch those pickles right off the top.
If you already like the Shack Burger, but you're open to mixing it up and trying something with a little Texas heat, get there this week!
Now you know I can't set foot into Shake Shack without ordering a 'Shroom Burger. #duh
On this trip I also got to taste the new strawberry lemonade. This may sound weird, but it tasted more like strawberry lemonade gatorade than say, a blend of lemonade and pureed strawberries.
The 'Shroom Burger arrived in its usual glory. Perfectly crispy on the outside and topped with the freshest tomatoes and leafy green lettuce.
And the very best part . . . the first bite!
Look at the cheese oozing out of the portabello mushroom. Mega yum.
The highlight of my trip was yesterday was the gorgeous weather in Harvard Square.
When I heard Danny Meyer, the founder and creator of Shake Shack, speak about how he and the team choose their locations, he said:
"When I go scout a new place, I sit down, imagining myself as the diner with their burger, fries and shake and I ask myself - does this location make me feel relaxed? When I look around, am I taking in scenery that feels amazing, inspiring and like classic New York? Does this location help me escape from my life for just five minutes and have a genuine, uplifting experience? That's Shackness."
Yesterday in the Square, I was definitely feel the Shackness.
