Modani Challenge: Living Room Style

In July 2012, I closed on my first home. Those who have been reading the blog for a while, know that I became absolutely obsessed with home decor. I would spend entire weekends perusing paint colors, art work, sofas, dining room sets, mattresses and more. I went from being giddy about the arrival of the J. Crew catalog to grinning from ear to ear when I came home to a Pottery Barn catalog instead.

Given my love for decorating, when the folks at Modani reached out to ask if I'd like to participate in their design challenge, my immediate answer was, "Yes!"

The challenge was to build a living room around one of Modani's gorgeous, modern sofas, infusing the room with your personal style.

I had a blast flipping through item after item on the Modani website. After much mixing and matching and a few touches of flair - VOILA! - my personal Modani living room was born. Isn't she a beauty?

Modani - Living Room Style

At the center of the room is Modani's Phantom sofa. Those who have been to my house know my couch is almost exactly this color. I prefer grey to black when it comes to neutral furniture. It's a bit softer.

To add some pizazz to the couch I chose the hot pink design on the Bihar pillows. I also tossed on the LOVE pillows, which remind me of Scrabble tiles. It may be hard to see this in the collage, but those letters are spelled with silver sequins!

To keep my feet nice and cozy during this arctic winter, I placed down the Lina Charcoal rug.

For extra seating (I never have enough at parties), I wanted two of the Tedo stools. Tufted furniture is my jam. In fact, I have a Pinterest board called "More Tuft Please."

To hide all my knick knacks, I've incorporated a few suitcases. How fun are these?

Lastly, to shed a little light on the situation, the Tuco lamp sits right next to the couch. This corner would make the perfect reading nook.

On top of the fantastic Modani furniture and accessories, I included two pieces of art work. I am obsessed with that "Get it Girl" illustration! I also sprinkled in some warm and cozy touches with a bouquet of fresh flowers and a Diptyque vanilla candle.

This challenge is kind of making me want to re-do my living room . . .  Oooops.
