Grey's Anatomy: Leaving The Nest

This week on Grey's Anatomy the attendings are preparing for their baby birds to leave the nest. In the opening scene, Owen writes all of the residents names on the white board along with all the hospitals who have extended them offers. It felt like a baseball draft!

In the second scene we learn that Kepner did in fact fail the boards. When in doubt, turn up "I'm sexy and I know it."

Later on Kepner gets calls from each and every hospital that extended her an offer. One by one they call to retract their offers. Eventually, Kepner stops answering her phone which prompts Cristina to start answering and pretending to be her.  Cristina does a mean Kepner impression! Also, no surprise that Kepner has a hot pink iPhone case.

This hour Ben makes Bailey breakfast in bed and tries to get her to enjoy her day off. Is he the dream man or what?

Bailey, like a fool, ditches the day with Ben to remove a worm from a man's spine. Ick! That story line had my skin crawling! I couldn't help but laugh at how excited Bailey was about this "once in a lifetime parasite."

During the worm removal surgery, Bailey and Ben start going at it. She winds up taking his crossword puzzle out of his bag and mocking his desire to work on it together. Little does she know he had the crossword puzzle custom made and printed to read "Will you marry me?" Again, the dream man.

Later that night, Bailey realizes the error of her ways and gets super dolled up for Ben. Hair, make up, trench coat, lingerie - the works! Just as she's about to strip down, Ben drops a bomb - he's been offered a job at UCLA. I would be disappointed, but honestly, I never really thought this would work out.

Also on the love front, Mark is considering reconnecting with Lexie. Only problem? He's still with Julia. At one point Mark says to Derek, "I'm with Julia. I'm not a cheater." Oh really? Addison, anyone?

While on the subject of cheating, Cristina deals with trying to move forward with Owen. Meredith urges her to make decisions for herself and not worry about Owen, but Cristina says, "You and I are not married. Owen is my person." Dear writers, that is insane. Every single season of this show has been based on Meredith and Cristina being each other's person.

Later in the hour, for some crazy reason, Cristina decides to end her silent treatment of Owen and sleep with him. Immediately after they hook up she tells him, "I'm leaving." Ouch.

Toward the end of the episode we start to learn what is going to happen to each one of our gang's original members. Cristina is off to the Mayo Clinic. Karev is taking a fellowship at John Hopkins and Meredith and Derek are moving to Boston. Did anyone else catch that Derek tried to tell Meredith that Boston to NYC was a two hour train ride? I wish!

Just as it seems everyone is happy and ready to move on, the previews for next week come on. In the preview it seems our gang's flight to Idaho crashed and several of them are in critical condition. Cristina and Meredith seem to be mobile, but many others are stuck in or under the plane and worst of all, it seems no one can find Derek. I never watched the show Lost, but from what I know about it, this premise seems pretty similar. With only one episode left, I have absolutely no idea what's in store for us. Any predictions?
