This week's episode of Grey's Anatomy felt slow, but in fact, a lot happened! Let's begin with Mark's daughter giving birth to the most adorable baby boy I have ever seen. He was so precious and captivated Mark immediately. Despite his desire to raise the baby, Mark did ultimately hand off the newborn to the eager adoptive parents.
All this baby commotion pushed Callie to continue to dig for the true reasons why Arizona doesn't want to have a baby. In a painful scene, Callie tries to psycho analyze Arizona, which is met with a biting reply that left me feeling as if I'd been slapped across the face! My girlfriend who watches Grey's with me every week said, "Come on, Arizona! Admit to the real reason. No one is that anti-baby for no reason." So true!
This episode also highlighted Dr. Kepner's obsession with Derek. At least their flirtation led to hilarious banter between Meredith and Dr. Avery (who witnessed a few exchanges). I wish they would give Dr. Avery more screen time!
This week left me with a few major questions: why is Derek so arrogant when he is wearing his Chief hat, but sweet and adoring when he's alone with Meredith?
Why did Hunt tell Derek that Teddy would be ok if her contract wasn't renewed at Seattle Grace? Did he want to send her away because he still has feelings for her? Or because he knew Cristina wanted to work with the famous Dr. Evans?
According to Shonda Rhimes' Twitter handle, all episodes between now and the season finale will be new. Thank goodness!
