2016 New Year's Resolutions

Thank you to everyone who followed along as I worked my way through my 2015 resolutions. I completed 13 out of 15 and I must say, I feel pretty proud of that.

Read: Why Not Me?

I think it's fair to say that when it comes to Mindy Kaling, I've achieved super fan status. When her show was on FOX, I wrote recaps for every single episode, even helping you track down some of the best fashions featured on the show. Last year I did an entire holiday gift guide for the Mindy fan in your life and when Mindy published her first book, "Is Everyone Hanging Out With Me?

Golden Globe Awards 2016: Best and Worst Dressed

Last night the Golden Globes kicked off the 2016 awards season. This is my favorite time of year.

The Golden Globes are particularly fun for a few reasons:

1) They usually have a comedian host for the evening

2) They let the attendees drink, which often leads to hilarious speeches later in the night

3) It honors the best of television and movies so you get to see all your favorite starts in one place

Movie Musings: The Danish Girl

My quest to see all the nominated movies continues with "The Danish Girl." It's well documented here on Pop.Bop.Shop. that Eddie Redmayne is my #1 celebrity crush. I've written about him nine times. Given my devotion, there was no question that I would support him and make sure to see his latest film.

*SPOILER ALERT! Do not read on if you do not want to know anything about this movie.*

Subscribe: BarkBox (Part III)

For my birthday this year, my cousin gifted Scout and I a three month subscription to BarkBox.

Even before I adopted Scout, I had my eye on BarkBox. As my Facebook behavior shifted towards spending 99% of my time on shelter and rescue pages, I started to get served ads for the service, months before I had a pup!

Relax: Balans Organic Spa

Everyone can use a little pampering this time of year. Between the crunch at work to finish everything before vacation, traveling for the holidays and shopping for, wrapping and shipping presents, we're all a little wiped.

Enter Balans Organic Spa.

Balans opened at 216 Newbury Street earlier this month. They are nestled on the second floor of a classic Back Bay brownstone.

Movie Musings: Brooklyn

As I mentioned yesterday, this time of year I try to see as many nominated movies as possible before the Golden Globe awards in January. This past weekend my quest included a trip to the Coolidge Corner theater to see "Brooklyn."

The movie is based on a novel written by Colm Toibin. The screenplay for the film was penned by Nick Hornby, best known as the author of "About a Boy."

*SPOILER ALERT! Do not read on if you do not want to know anything about the plot of this movie.*

Movie Musings: Spotlight

I tend to see a lot of movies at this time of year. When the temperature drops, going to the movie theater is the ideal outing. You can wear pajamas, you're nice and cozy for two hours and though you didn't really do anything, you still feel like you left the house for a legitimate activity. I also tend to use the winter/holiday break to see as many movies before awards season as possible.
