For our final night of our Las Vegas trip, we knew we wanted to dine somewhere special. I suggested chef Todd English's Olives at Bellagio because I had been there before (so I knew the food was great) and I thought we could watch the Bellagio fountain either coming or going.
There are few things in this world I love as much as brunch. On my second morning in Las Vegas, drunk on happiness and teenage dreams realized (at the Backstreet Boys concert the night before), my travel buddy and I were in search of an extra special place to dine. When we were at the hotel pool the day before I noticed that one of the restaurants has outdoor seating and overlooks the pool deck. Since it was a gorgeous day, I suggested we claim chairs at the pool and check it out.
China Poblano is one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. I have dined there many times, but always with clients, which isn't exactly the most appropriate setting to say, "Hey, can you not touch your food until I take a picture of it?" I am so happy I was able to return with a friend so I can share all of this deliciousness with you!
One of the best parts of staying at Aria in Las Vegas was its proximity to The Cosmopolitan. From the Aria lobby you walk through the Crystal Shops (a luxury mall with Prada, Pucci, Valentino and more), over a short pedestrian bridge and voila! You've reached the Cosmo.
I have just returned from a long weekend in Sin City. Las Vegas is one of my favorite vacation destinations. In general, I love that absolutely everything there is so over the top. More specifically, I keep going back because it is sunny 365 days of the year, every hotel has a beautiful pool, the best chefs in the world seek out these hotels for their restaurants and whatever your interest is, there is an entertainment option for you (concert, comedy performance, Cirque du Soleil show). And did I mention the luxury shopping malls?
One of my 2017 New Year's resolutions is to up my breakfast game. While I feel pretty confident I have the brunch scene mastered, there are so many great, local places that make killer breakfasts that I have yet to explore.
In my early twenties I spent a lot of time in the South End (thanks to a love interest with an apartment in that neighborhood). I have always been enchanted by the brownstones, the iron railings, the stunning window boxes, the community gardens and parks, and of course, the parade of adorable dogs.
Before I started working in Kendall Square, I had only explored the food scene a little bit - Belly Wine Bar, Catalyst, Friendly Toast, Lord Hobo,
It used to be that you only went to Central Square in Cambridge for two reasons: (1) to dance to Whitney Houston at the Phoenix Landing and (2) to eat Hi-Fi pizza, drunk at 2:00am. However, in the past two years, Central Square has been morphing into a food mecca.
This Sunday our very own New England Patriots will face off against the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl. The team at Wahlburgers knows that you are going to need plenty of fuel to cheer on Tommy and the boys, so they've added a couple of special things to their menu for game day. I headed to the Fenway location this week to get a sneak peek.
For most of my life my father worked for an architecture firm in Inman Square in Cambridge. He and his colleagues would head across the street to East Coast Grill to celebrate promotions, birthdays and farewells. He also loved to dine there with us. When my sister and I were younger we would order our drinks and fidget uncontrollably waiting to see which neon, plastic animal would be swimming in our cup when it landed on the table.
Every Thursday night I have dinner with one of my best friends from college. We started this tradition when we graduated in May 2006. In those early years, we'd pick up take out and watch "Grey's Anatomy," but as we've gotten older, we love using our weekly catch up to try new restaurants.
