Holiday Gift Guide 2018: For The Kiddos

Why is shopping for kids so much fun? Maybe because all the clothes are so teeny and adorable? Maybe because it feels great to introduce your favorite munchkins to stuff you loved when you were little? No matter the reason, picking out presents for little guys and gals is one of the highlights of holiday season.

I have five little cousins who I am very close to, and in my circle of college friends, we've got three little nuggets, so my eyes are peeled for kid gifts at all times. Today I'm excited to share some of my best finds, along with some childhood throwbacks.

Let's start with the littlest kiddos. These fleece jumpsuits from Carter's are so precious I can't stand it. On Amazon, they sell them in pairs. Why choose between two patterns when you can have both?

I found this toddler sweatshirt on Etsy in a shop called EarthCadets. I want to get it for every kid I know.

Last year, my friend Lindsey (we used to work together at a PR agency in Waltham, MA) opened her own Etsy shop called Peapod & Nate. She makes the most whimsical outfits, including this Hanukkah dress

She uses that same Hanukkah fabric to make bow ties too!

I also love the Peapod & Nate nutcracker dress

And this pattern with the gold detailing on the collar is just too sweet.

From party dresses to playing dress up, this purple tutu will make a stellar addition to any costume collection.

When I was a little girl, I really wanted a dog. I had a Pound Puppy (remember those?), but I always wanted a real dog. If a kiddo in your life is expressing that same wish, these dog and cat adoption play sets from Crate & Barrel are very special.

I flipped when I discovered this deck of playing cards from Uncommon Goods, each with an inspirational woman on the front. It's never too early to start learning about the women who changed history.

Can you imagine playing Go Fish and having your niece ask, "Do you have a Malala?"

My sister's favorite game when we were kids was Cootie and I was delighted to see it's still for sale!

Gift Guide Kids

My favorite game was called Pizza Party, which I was upset to learn is not only hard to find, but is described on eBay as vintage! How rude! There are some boxes available on eBay, and thanks to Board Game Geek, I am able to share some photos with you.

Speaking of geeks, if you're shopping for a kid who is into science and space, these planet lollipops are pretty awesome.

Last but not least, if your favorite little one likes to help in the kitchen, this pancake flipper from Williams Sonoma is a cool way to jazz up a holiday breakfast. Kids can pour the batter, flip the pancakes, and douse them in syrup.

Tips for Increasing Productivity in Your medical billing services

Apart from the patients, billing is the lifeline for the medical office. If your medical office's billing is done in-house or you've outsourced it to a medical billing firm There are certain things you should perform that are vital to maintaining a smooth medical billing services.

Train the front desk personnel. It is imperative that personnel at the front desk have at least some basic billing or insurance training. Be sure that your staff are checking insurance benefits prior to patients' appointments. Make sure you train your new employees on different kinds of insurance plans such as indemnity plans, PPOs, HMOs and POS plans. Educate the front desk on referrals and authorizations. Explain the difference between 'Original Medicare', 'Medicare Advantage', and 'Medigap' in order for the correct co-payment/co-insurance to be collected and the correct health insurance cards to be copied for billing purposes.

It is essential to complete the registration form for patients before billing can commence. There is nothing that frustrates Medical billers more than an insufficient insured's date of birth, a suffix that is missing from a Medicare HIC number or a missing telephone number for the home. Train your front desk staff to keep a watchful at the registration form and ensure that all fields are filled out! This will assist you in the future with collection.

A biller is only one biller! If your billing is done inside the facility, billing should be assigned to a specific person or persons who's sole responsibility is billing. If the same person in charge of the front desk, putting patients in rooms and taking every phone call is the employee who is doing your billing--mistakes are bound to occur. These mistakes could be the reason providers decide to outsource their billing.

Utilizing a web-based software like Kareo, is especially helpful in enhancing the efficiency of billing because it allows the billing provider and billing service to stay connected. In addition, the medical office has access to patient accounts which can be helpful in the collection of outstanding balances for patients during an encounter. In contrast the biller is able to have real-time access to any demographics of patients, diagnoses, insurance and other relevant information required to make claims for submission.

Keep your receivables in order. Many service providers are shocked to see the exact amount appearing in the 90+ column of their aging insurance reports. Each state has its own prompt payment statutes which set deadlines for claims made on paper or electronic to be settled. If billing is done internally, you can ask your biller for an A/R report. Determine the reason why you're not happy with the report you've seen. Are you able to determine that your biller isn't able to process charges, make claims, pay bills, and manage the A/R themselves? Do you have a billing company whose billers manage their accounts through the entire lifecycle of claims? Take note of your billing staff in either scenario and, if necessary employ an additional worker who is responsible for managing the receivables.

An interesting dialogue is price comment. I feel that it is best to write more on this matter, it may not be a taboo topic however usually individuals are not enough to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers. Birla Tisya
