While there were so many highlights during our Palm Springs trip, the true star of the vacation was our rental house. We stayed in a property managed by Relax Palm Springs, which I cannot recommend enough. The property managers were so responsive in the weeks leading up to our stay, as well as while we were in town. They came to the house on our first day to show us how everything worked (you know, the essentials: grill, fire pit, hot tub) and stopped by on our final morning to make sure we were all set before heading to the airport.
Our rental was in the Racquet Club Estates neighborhood. Our house, called PS Groovy, is described on the website as, "Mad Men style meets the groovy life." The house was fully stocked, especially the kitchen. All of the common areas were spacious and comfortable, but we barely spent any time indoors because the backyard was so incredible.
On the left side of the yard was the fire pit and the outdoor dining area.
We never wound up using the fire pit (it was too damn hot) but we staged many a photo in those chairs.
The grilling space was awesome - it was shaded (a must in 114 degree desert heat) and the table was meant for big family meals.
We shared many a breakfast and dinner in those canary yellow chairs.
Just beyond the fire pit was the hot tub, which we used almost every night. We even managed to get a few pool floaties in there.
The showstopper was, of course, the swimming pool.
The pool had tons of seating on both sides, perfect for sun bathing.
The best part? The day beds. At most hotels, you have to pay to lounge on seating like this. I couldn't get over the fact that we had these in our rental house. I was in shock all over again every morning.
Our backyard also featured our very own putting green. I mean . . . what more do you need in life?
This house was a vacation dream come true. Before we even got to our gate at the airport, we were already talking about when we'll come back.
There are so many more Palm Springs things I want to see and do. On my list for next time:
- The Palm Spring Aerial Tramway
- The Spa at Two Bunch Palms (known for their mud baths)
- Brunch at LULU
- Happy Hour at Bootlegger Tiki
- Appetizers at Draughtsman
- Dinner at Purple Palm
Anything else I should add?
Thank you for following along with my California adventure!
