7 Boston Restaurants Offering Snowstorm Specials

All week here in Boston the city has been buzzing about the potential for a major snowstorm this weekend. Last Sunday it sounded like we could get as much as two feet of snow, though now the meteorologists are saying two - four inches.

I think we can all agree that we are still scarred from last year. Remember this?

There are several Boston restaurants who feel your pain and want to help ease the reintegration to snow days by offering incredible deals.

Below are seven spots (it's the year of lucky number seven!) who are running snow emergency specials.

1. Canary Square in Jamaica Plain

If you haven't been to Canary Square in Jamaica Plain, it is 100 percent worth the trip. I love their grilled cheese sandwich with avocado, tomato and onions. In the event of a snow emergency, Canary Square will be offering $5 dollar tacos and $8 dollar margaritas. Taco flavors include: crispy coconut cod, carnitas, grilled hanger steak and fried egg.

2. Coda in Back Bay

Coda is just around the corner from Clerys, the bar I spent almost every Saturday night at in my early 20s. They make a delicious mushroom arancini and their French fries are crazily addiciting. To warm up from the freezing cold, they are offering a grilled cheese and tomato soup special during snow emergencies.

3. The Painted Burro in Davis Square

I have recently become obsessed with the brunch at the Painted Burro. Their "Hair of the Dog" Mexican iced coffee is heaven in a frosted mug. I'd also highly recommend the breakfast tacos. If you're a taco addict like me and you live walking distance to this spot, you are about to rejoice. On any day delcared a snow emergency in Somerville, the Painted Burro will offer $3 dollar tacos. Varieties include: chorizo, gulf shrimp, pork carnitas, baja-style fish, BLT & cheese, calamari, short rib, chicken tinga and more.

4. Pastoral Artisan Pizza, Kitchen & Bar in Fort Point

I have only been to Pastoral once and on that visit we were seated two tables from John Henry (the owner of the Red Sox) so I was unable to focus or take a single picture. I basically gawked at him the entire meal. Though I didn't document the meal, I remember clearly how delicious the pizza was. During City of Boston snow emergencies, Pastoral is offering a margherita pizza paired with an ice cold beer for $18 dollars (usual prize for that combo = $24 dollars).

5. Posto in Davis Square

Posto is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. I love their lemon arancini, their seasonal salads and their Bianco pizza. In fact, I love every pizza I've ever tried there. In the event of a Somerville snow emergency, they will be offering five different pizzas for just $12 dollars, dine-in or take-out. Flavors eligible for the discount include: margherita, pepperoni, marinara, mushroom and soppressata.

6. Puritan & Company in Inman Square

I have no proof of this, but I am going to go ahead and say I am chef Will Gilson's biggest fan. I was a frequent guest at his first restaurant, Garden at the Cellar, ate at his pop-up on Cape Cod, attended a farm dinner at his family's Herb Lyceum in Groton, MA and dined at his current venture Puritan & Company when it first opened. This winter, any time it snows more than three inches, Puritan & Company will offer a three-course "Storm Menu" for just $35 dollars. These snow-inspired menus will include an appetizer, entree and dessert.

7. Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar in Davis Square

I have been dining at the Rosebud since I graduated college in May 2006. Since their huge renovation I've been back several times for dinner and more recently for brunch. I don't know if you follow them on Instagram (@rosebudkitchen) but their speciality milkshakes are insanely fun and delicious. This year, in the event of a snow emergency Somerville, they will offer a brunch-for-dinner menu in addition to their regular fare. The comfort food menu will include: French toast, chicken and waffles, breakfast flatbread, a bacon & egg burger and a bacon bourbon Bloody Mary. #drooling

So if you have a pair of boots and you live in one of these neighborhoods, head out and indulge!

Didn't amount to much, but I love these specials that encourage people to walk down to their local watering hole.

There was a picture that was available at this it has some parts about the restaurants that will be open even a snowstorm day. Explore the data that was on it or have edubirdie format was good to hire the access on it that was useful to make on it.
