Welcome To Joyhood

You may remember that back in 2013 I partnered with Good Humor and former Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez for the "Share the Love" campaign.

That summer, Good Humor drove all over town surprising Bostonians with icy cold treats. After the Boston Marathon tragedy that spring, a little pick-me-up was just what the city needed.

This year, the Good Humor team is back at it for the third year in a row with a new theme, "Welcome to Joyhood." Their signature red and white Joy Squad is roving the streets of Boston, traveling from neighborhood to neighborhood with free treats. They are even making surprise visits to fans who request their presence via Twitter.

Last Friday, the Joy Squad rolled up to my office and we all poured out onto the sidewalk like giddy elementary school kids. We were wide eyed as the Joy Squad driver showed us all the delectable options.

Excuse the iPhone photos, I was so excited I forgot to grab my real camera.

Our newest crop of assistant account executives were very excited about their chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches.

I went with the Choco Taco, which somehow tasted even better than I remembered from childhood.

If you haven't had a chance to experience the Good Humor Joy Squad just yet, don't panic! They are in town through Saturday, September 12th. You can find them in the following neighborhoods:

  • 9/2: Waterfront and Chestnut Hill
  • 9/3: West End, Copley and Back Bay
  • 9/4: Cambridge and South End
  • 9/5: Mission Hill
  • 9/6: Allston, Brighton and Waterfront
  • 9/7: Chestnut Hill and West End
  • 9/8: Copley, Back Bay and Cambridge
  • 9/9: South End and Mission Hill
  • 9/10: Allston, Brighton and Waterfront
  • 9/11: Chestnut Hill and West End
  • 9/12: Copley and Back Bay
If you live or work in one of these communities, keep your eyes peeled!

You can also summon the Joy Squad by tweeting @GoodHumor with the hashtag #JoyhoodBOS.

Free ice cream for the next 10 days? Welcome to Joyhood.
