Last night's episode of "The Mindy Project" was called "San Francisco Bae." See what they did there?
The show starts out with Mindy calling Danny a million times a day. Each time she asks him, "What's shakin', sugar?" Danny encourages Mindy to focus on enjoying San Francisco and to try going out on the town.
On her way out for the night, Mindy hears Dr. G whimpering in his room. Turns out he and his wife (Ana Gasteyer) have split up. Mindy suggests he join her on her quest to explore the city.
They saddle up to a table and Mindy proclaims, "I'm going to get us drinks. You order every appetizer." Ha!
While at the bar, Mindy is spotted by a former flame, Alex. Mindy took Alex's virginity and apparently he has always idolized her. In fact, after their night of passion, he was determined to become the kind of man Mindy would want.
Alex very dramatically cuts off his long pony tail and then proceeds to preserve it in a glass box. Should I do that when I chop my hair off in the spring?
As it turns out, Alex has been named WIRED magazine's "Person of the Year" and has become a billionaire. In 2012 he emailed Mindy to ask her to be his date to a gala, she never replied. You can just see it in Mindy's eyes, she's devastated to have missed her brush with fame.
Dr. G takes Mindy's phone and forwards Alex's email to Danny. Mindy then frantically calls Peter, asking him to delete the email. She advises, Danny's password is either TheStateKid or Vatican1Forever. Ha!
At the close of the episode, Alex is still hitting on Mindy. As he's about to proposition her, his girlfriend magically appears, played by the always hilarious Chrissy Teigen.
Back in New York, the one notable plot development was Peter laying a big, fat kiss on Lauren. Will Lauren give him another chance or stick with Jeremy?
On the fashion front, this episode I was loving the black and gold houndstooth sweatshirt Mindy was wearing in her dorm room. Turns out it's MICHAEL Michael Kors and you can get it on 6pm.com.
