The Mindy Project: Tardy For The Party

Guys - for two whole weeks The Mindy Project was not on because of  . . . wait for it . . . the World Series. I'm sorry, but that is why ESPN exists. The sports fans have their very own channel to spend night after night watching games. We, the loyal Mindy fans, only have one channel on which to watch our show and we were robbed of that weekly treat for two solid weeks. Not happy.

You can turn that frown upside down because last night The Mindy Project returned! When I woke up Tuesday morning I was so excited about the show's new episode that I tweeted about it. A few hours later, the show responded to me! I was at work and I nearly fell off my chair. Evidence of the conversation:

My life is complete.

Last night's episode was called "Caramel Princess Time" and revolved around Danny's obsession with being on time. Since Mindy is always late to everything, this has become a major point of tension in their relationship.

Mindy is supposed to meet Danny at a comedy club but she's late, so he leaves before she even arrives. The comedian on stage begins to make fun of her and gets the crowd to start chanting, "Take a hike!" Mindy quips back, "You know what? I will leave, but I will never hike!"

At the office the next morning Mindy tries to explain to Danny why she can't get ready in three minutes like he can. She details, "I gotta shower, my friend. I gotta to shave this hot body from ankles to eyebrows. I also have to highlight and contour everything just so you'll have sex with me. I'm basically CGI." Ain't that the truth!

Determined to trip Danny up on his anal retentive fixation on punctuality, Mindy turns his watch back an hour so he's late for work. When he realizes what she's done, he races to the office in his running clothes. He makes it with a minute to spare and does the best victory dance/Michael Jackson moon walk ever.

Later in the episode Mindy offers to help Danny by spending the day running errands with his mother. The events of that day totally unglue Mindy and when Danny comes to rescue her she is sitting on his mother's front stoop. He says, "I like you on a Staten Island porch." She fires back, "I would rather die."

Last night's sidebar story line was about Tamra setting Peter up with her best friend Abby. Tamra offers, "She's been looking for a strong ass man, but is now lowering her standards and I think you'd be perfect." Ha!

Peter winds up blowing the first date with Abby, but decides to write her a short story to win her back and its one of the best scenes in the episode.

I am overjoyed Mindy and the gang are back and that not even Election Day could stop us from watching a new episode last night.

What was your favorite moment from the episode?
