The Mindy Project: A Case Of Mindy Fever

Last night's episode of "The Mindy Project" featured theatrics, fake accents and a black sheep sweatshirt.

The episode begins with the doctors arriving to the hospital to meet their new boss, Dr. Jean Fishman, formerly of Mass General. I love the way Mindy constantly works nods to Boston into her scripts.

In the middle of Dr. Fishman's presentation, Mindy's phone starts to go off. Naturally her ring tone is Iggy Azalea's "Fancy."

Dr. Fishman is less than impressed by Mindy & co. and it takes a lot of groveling and one very unexpected kiss for Mindy to get back in her good graces.

Afraid to come clean to Dr. Fishman about her heterosexuality, Danny explains to Mindy, "I know you love your little white lies, but it's one thing to hole punch your own frequent yogurt card, it's another thing to mess with someone's heart." Which reminds me, I wish the frozen yogurt place in Watertown was open past 9:00pm.

Meanwhile, across town, Peter and Jeremy are at the Dartmouth alumni club for a beer pong tournament. Jeremy is donning a fake American accent while Peter is trying to get out from under his terrible college nickname, Lefty (as in, all the girls have left him).

Who are they facing off against in pong? Shonda Rhimes! After Peter sinks the winning shot he shouts, "What's up, Shonda? Am I the new mayor of Shondaland?" Hilarious.

In the final scene of the episode, Mindy and Danny have a very dramatic faux fight in front of Dr. Fishman and her wife (who looks freakishly like Danny). Once they've successfully tricked the ladies, Mindy and Danny were feeling pretty satisfied with themselves and I was feeling like I only want to watch those two from now on. Goodbye supporting cast, hello, Rom Com.

What did you think of last night's episode? As funny as Diamond Dan?
