Ladies and gents, it's time to save the date! On Sunday, June 1st, Tavern Road chef Louis DiBiccari brings Boston his third annual CREATE, a celebration of food, drink, art and music.
Growing up, Chef Louis was heavily influenced by his Uncle Adio, an American Master Sculptor whose Tavern Road studio would later became the inspiration for the name of his first restaurant. If you haven't been to Tavern Road, read my review and prepare to drool.
In the mid-2000s, Louis moved to the emerging Fort Point neighborhood and has experienced first hard the talent of the local artist community. He developed CREATE to shine a spotlight on those artists.
"No other city takes more pride in its athletes, doctors, politicians, scholars and chefs. All of these people are granted celebrity status in Boston, but no one's talking about the artists. Truth is, we have some amazing artistic talent in our own backyard that deserves to be celebrated. CREATE is a platform to give these artists the recognition they deserve," said DiBiccari.
As in years past, the event will pair artists with a chef and a bartender. Each group will prepare an atmosphere, food and drink with a unified theme.
This year the participating chefs include: Jade Taylor of Bondir, Scott Jones of Mention, Monica Glass of Clip and Meg Ward of Coppa. The bartender roster includes Emma Hollander of Trina's Starlite Lounge, Palmer Matthews of Drink, Daren Swisher of jm Curley and Sabrina Kershaw of The Franklin Cafe.
CREATE will take place from 2:00pm - 6:00pm on June 1st at Fairmont Battery Wharf in the North End. Tickets are $35 dollars and you can get yours right here.
