Grey's Anatomy: The Complaint

When we last left our gang in Seattle, Owen and Cristina had crossed the line (again), Owen broke up with Emma and Jackson and Kepner revealed the truth about their relationship.

Tonight Owen confronts Cristina about why she's so interested in his break up. There are several moments throughout the episode where they playfully tease each other. It reminded me of how they use to be in the beginning. Remember when Owen couldn't sleep through the night and Cristina comforted him?

I also loved when Meredith confirmed to Cristina that Owen had broken up with Emma and said, "I can't tell if you're happy or sad." To which she replied, "Neither can I."

This hour Alex was on suspension for breaking the "no dating at work rule." Meredith tried to help him by getting HR to produce a love contact, but he refused to ask Jo to sign it. He ranted about not wanting to push her away like her did with Izzie. Aww. He still thinks about Izzie.

Across the hospital, Derek has to tell Callie that she can't work on their research project anymore because the government now owns that work. I knew that wasn't going to go over well.

Callie gets riled up again when Arizona suggests that her patient with chronic leg pain be able to elect to have her legs amputated. When the young girl's father said, "I want her pain to stop today," I nearly lost it.

Later on, Arizona has to go to HR to answer questions about her relationship with Dr. Murphy. She thinks Murphy filed a complaint against her, but it was actually a complaint against Callie. Ouch.

While Callie is in HR, Arizona has a touching moment with Cristina. Arizona asks her if she still dreams about the plane crash. They bond over their continued trauma and even hold hands for a minute. Grey's always knows how to capture those poignant moments. Even the brief ones.

In the final scene, Arizona pleads with Callie to forgive her and let them rebuild their life together. A few moments later Callie is lacing Arizona into her Heelys and they are spinning around the sidewalk in front of the house. I forgot that when we first met Arizona those were her calling card!

Did anyone else notice that for the third week in a row the show's soundtrack has included very strange covers of popular songs? I find it so distracting.

In previews for next week, Jackson's mother Catherine is back and trying to force Kepner to sign a prenuptial agreement. Callie also takes legal action against Derek for removing her from their research project.

As a heads up, I will be in Las Vegas for work next Thursday and will not be able to watch live with all of you. I land on Friday morning and hope to share my recap that night. If I'm too exhausted, you'll get a double recap next week.

Happy almost Friday!
