The 2014 Academy Awards: Best Dressed

Though the Academy Awards are the most prestigious of the season, it's still all about the fashion.

Tonight's red carpet stunners didn't come from the major category nominees, but instead, the presenters!

Without further ado, my list of the Best Dressed at this year's Oscars.

BEST DRESSED

Charlize Theron - I've been obsessed with Charlize ever since her girl power ad campaign for Dior. I want that song to play every time I walk into a room. Tonight, she was breathtaking in this sleek, body-hugging Dior gown. It fit her perfectly and that neckline! The top of the gown looks like it's floating (there are nude colored straps). Taking it up a notch is that Harry Winston necklace which pairs so expertly with the dress. This was a total home run.

Naomi Watts - I was completely caught off guard by how sophisticated Naomi Watts looked in this white dress by Calvin Klein Collection. The color and silhouette are so simple, yet there's an elegance there. Accessorized with a Bulgari necklace and geometric clutch, she had just the right amount of edge with this angelic dress. Giuliana Rancic put it best when she said, "All Naomi is missing is her sexiest accessory, her husband, Liev Schreiber."

Jennifer Garner - I didn't see her on the red carpet, but instead on stage as a presenter. Jennifer was feminine and flirty in this glittering, silver Oscar de le Renta frock. I think this may be her best look yet.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen - I listed John and Chrissy as Best Dressed at the Grammy Awards in February and they've done it again. John looked dapper in his tux and Chrissy stole the show in a Monique Lhuillier gown. I love the pink floral pattern. She also mastered perfect, wavy beach hair.

Lupita Nyong'o - I know many people are going to pick Lupita as their number one best dressed tonight, but I think her gowns at the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards were more beautiful than this. She still glowed in this ice blue Prada which she bragged was custom made for her. I love the pleats and the way the dress' skirt moved when she walked. I definitely could have done without the headband, but the rest of the look was quite pretty.

Sandra Bullock - Sandra Bullock, or Sandy as her real friends call her, is someone I'd like to think I'd be friends with if we ever met. She's so down to earth, yet she always brings the glamour on the red carpet. Tonight she selected a silky, navy Alexander McQueen gown. Her hair and make up were flawless, elevating the whole look. Thought she didn't take home the statue for Best Actress, her film did clean up in many other categories, causing her face to grace the screen multiple times throughout the broadcast.

Bradley Cooper - The always reliable Bradley Cooper looked like a total fox in his Tom Ford tux. Though I usually see scruff as a sign of laziness, on him, it's totally hot.

Ethan Hawke - Speaking of hot, I've had a crush on Ethan Hawke since Gattica. Tonight he looked like he drank from the fountain of youth! He was a perfect ten in Dior.

Joseph Gordon Levitt - The always dreamy JGL was classic Hollywood tonight in a Calvin Klein Collection tux. He is just so adorable.

Jessica Biel - Though her triple threat husband left her to walk the red carpet alone (he's on tour), Jessica Biel shined bright all on her own. This nude colored Chanel dress is accented with silver embellishments, not to mention her bling bling Tiffany & Co. jewels.

Chris Hemsworth - Chris Hemsworth is another one I didn't see on the carpet, but noticed when he took the stage to present. I love his wine colored David August tux. Tonight reminded me I still want to see Rush.

And there you have it! My picks for the Best Dressed.

I thought my favorite part about tonight's show would be Ellen returning as host, but it actually wound up being the musical performances.

Pharrell Williams kicked off the night was his infectious tune "Happy." I loved his ruby red kicks! When he walked past the front row and danced with Lupita, Meryl and Amy Adams I just about died. So fun!

Rock legends U2 blew me away with their acoustic version of "Ordinary Love" from the Mandela movie.

Pink took the stage in an Elie Saab gown inspired by the ruby red slippers to pay tribute to the Wizard of Oz. Her rendition of "Somewhere over the rainbow" gave me goose bumps!

The biggest laugh of the night came from Ellen organizing all her favorite celebs to try and achieve Twitter's most re-tweeted selfie. So good.

Of all the acceptance speeches, my favorite was Cate Blanchett's. I loved when she said, " . . . and to the audiences who went to see it and perhaps to those of us in the industry foolishly clinging to the idea that female films with women at the center are niche experiences. They are not. Audiences want to see them and in fact, they make money. The world is round, people!"

Though my eye lids were getting droopy by the time the final statues were handed out, I was happy I stayed up until the end of the show.

Tell me, who was your favorite on the red carpet tonight? Did you predict any of the winners?
