Grey's Anatomy: Do You?

The winter finale of Grey's Anatomy was last Thursday, but I was traveling for work and unable to watch live, so the recap is coming to you one week later.

See, just when you thought Grey's was over until 2014.

The episode opened with Cristina giving a press conference about her revolutionary surgical treatment (made possible by Meredith's 3D printer). Afterward the reporters ask Meredith to step aside so they can photograph Cristina next to the printer. Ouch.

Later on, Meredith and Cristina are standing side by side being fitted for bridesmaids dresses and having an all out battle. It's just not believable when they fight. They are the dark and twisty sisters. They belong together!

The fight culminates when Cristina asks, "When did I become such a monster to you?"

Speaking of monsters, Alex has a heart to heart with his dad (a.k.a. Richard from Sex and the City) and we learn that Alex took care of his mother and siblings when his dad bailed. That trip down memory lanes turns into Alex screaming in his face and ultimately shaking his dad's hand and saying goodbye.

Before we get to Kepner and the wedding, I have to say, I loved the patient story this week of the man who risked losing his voice. I died laughing when the first two things he wanted to make sure he said to his wife in case he never spoke again were, "You have a cute butt" and "I never liked your brother." Ha!

As he gets wheeled into surgery, his confessions continue, "That striped dress did make you look fat." To which his wife responds, "I wore that to three weddings!" He replied by singing, "It had to be you." I melted.

The back half of the episode, Kepner is running around the hospital with rollers in her hair trying to round up all the bridesmaids. Matthew almost sees her, but ducks around the corner. They whisper to each other while holding hands around the wall. So cute.

Once at the venue, we finally see Kepner's dress which is gorgeous and perfect for her. Her hair do was very Von Trapp. Too juvenile and a bit .  . .  bar wench?

While entering the wedding Bailey and Ben continue fighting. If she pushes him away, I swear I will leap through that television and rip into her.

Alex shows up to the wedding and passionately kisses Jo, making her promise if they get married and have kids they'll do it alone, just them. No one else. Transferring your feelings, dear Alex?

Back at the hospital, Shane is operating on Alex's dad and becomes possessed. Murphy urges him to wait for an attending, but he won't. Shane then begins to have flashbacks to Heather and her death. He only backs away from the table when the Chief enters the room and talks him off the ledge.

Back at the wedding, Derek receives a call from the President of the United States. So much for slowing down on work so Meredith could ramp up.

In the final 60 seconds of the episode Jackson stands up during Kepner's wedding ceremony, takes a few steps toward the alter and says, "I love you, April. I always have. I love everything about you. Even the things I don't like, I love. And I want you with me. I love you and I think you love me too. Do you?"

And that's it! We have to wait until next year for the answer! Damn it, Shonda!

What do you think? Will Kepner choose Jackson or stick with Matthew?
