One of my coworkers is on the board of the Co|So Circle of the Copley Society of Art, a group of emerging collectors with a passion for the arts. For the past year we've been trying to attend an event together and this week it's finally going to happen!
On Thursday evening, December 13th, I will be a guest at the Co|So Circle's 8th Annual Art Tasting. The event is at the Copley Society's gallery at 158 Newbury Street and will feature wine from Urban Grape and delicious food from Bistro du Midi, American Provisions and Wasik's Cheese.
The Art Tasting is literally that - a taste of art for those who are new to collecting. Small works will be for sale ranging in price from $150 - $2,000. As a first time homeowner, I am in desperate need of some pieces to fill my newly painted walls.
If you are still shopping for holiday gifts, the Art Tasting will also be selling hand painted Christmas ornaments for $25 dollars.
Additionally, Copley Society artist Pat Shea will be painting live at the event and you can enter a raffle to win his finished work. Raffle tickets are $5 or you can purchase five tickets for $20.

If you have a blast at the event and want to become a member of the Co|So Circle (a $100 annual membership), the $20 you spend on your ticket will be deducted from your membership cost. Pretty sweet deal. If you want to join with a friend, you can purchase two memberships for a total of $150.
