Grey's Anatomy: The Grind

Tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy was gory and gut wrenching. I am super squeamish and tonight's story line with the three, butcher brothers had me wincing every few minutes. The hand in the meat grinder? The lose fingers? The toe! Ick times a million!

I am not sure where this Callie/Meredith story line is going, but I like the idea of Callie as Meredith's mentor.

Watching Karev run his intern Morgan into the ground was difficult. A twenty something having a heart attack is a really hard thing to watch. I have two predictions about this girl Morgan - first, her boyfriend doesn't know she was pregnant and second, that she and Karev are going to fall in love. Agree or disagree?

This hour Dr. Bailey borders on desperation as she tries to hold on to her patient and keep her out of the hands of Dr. Sloan and Dr. Avery. I was hoping this hour would have more romantic Ben and Bailey scenes, not Bailey falling apart scenes.

Also this hour, Derek's sister Amelia comes to town from Los Angeles to consult with him on a tumor case. I don't watch Private Practice so I know nothing about her character and to be honest, I don't care to. This story line felt completely useless to me.

The hardest story line to watch (besides the hand in the meat grinder) was Cristina and Owen duking it out in couples therapy. In that very first scene it looked like the intro to the movie When Harry Met Sally. You can tell that whenever Owen looks at Cristina all he sees now is the woman who aborted his baby. At this point, I'm not rooting for them as it seems the damage is done and can't be repaired.

In previews for next week, everyone's getting it on and Cristina thinks Owen is cheating on her.

I chose not to watch Private Practice tonight because I don't believe there is going to be more than two or three minutes of Grey's Anatomy characters. I DVR-ed it anyway in case I'm wrong. Did I miss anything important?
