90210: Moving In And Moving On

If you were looking for my Gossip Girl review this morning, you'll have to speak to the folks at Comcast about why I was unable to give that to you.

After attending the Improper Bostonian's launch party for the "City's 20 Most Desirable Singles" issue last night I came home, kicked off my heels, turned on the TV and to my shock and horror, Comcast did not record Gossip Girl as I had scheduled them to do. Needless to say, I was furious. Let's be honest, I'm still furious.

My sincere apologies for delay on the recap, I'll give you a double dose of Gossip Girl next Monday.

Now onto 9-0.

During tonight's episode Liam's new girlfriend Vanessa thinks she can help him become a TV and movie star. Liam's agent Sheila replies, "When the girlfriend steps in, I step out." Well put, Sheila.

Vanessa does manage to get Liam onto Your Day LA and his appearance is a total disaster and not in an endearing way.

For her next trick, Vanessa will turn Liam into a hero!

While at the "Save the Bay" event Liam dives easily 10 - 15 feet off a bridge and into what could be shallow water to save a flailing stranger. The local TV station interviews him and runs this caption, "Male model saves drowning woman at charity event." Turns out, this heroic act was brought to you by Vanessa's wallet. Disgusting.

Also this hour Ivy meets a new skater boy. Who doesn't love a bad boy? Dylan McKay, anyone?

Shortly after their first meeting, Ivy's gallery show is vandalized. Now I wonder who could have done that?

Clearly showing interest in him, Ivy shows up to the skater boy's studio. Is she going to fall in love with him and they'll run around LA tagging walls together?

This episode Naomi gets her party planning business off the ground with a sweet sixteen party for Mitchell's love child. Is it just me, or from far away does Mitchell look like Mr. Matthews? I think it's the long hair.

The writers try to give Naomi a teaching moment with Mitchell's daughter Carla, but did anyone really buy that sappy, soap box speech? I like Naomi best when she's vicious.

This hour Navid "decides" to go to Princeton. Children work their entire lives for a shred of a chance of getting into Princeton and Navid cavalierly says, "I've decided to go to Princeton." Yeah, ok, buddy.

Shortly after this declaration, Dixon asks Adriana to move in with him to make their relationship "more convenient" and of course, she's appalled.

Later on when Silver and Adriana are discussing their relationship statuses it is beyond awkward that Silver is giving Adriana advice about Dixon and Adriana is giving Silver advice about Navid, given that they each used to date the other one's boyfriend. In real life, one could never stomach that type of conversation.

And then the same conversation happens with Navid and Dixon! Again, would never happen.

At the end of the hour Annie goes on a hunt for the "Save the Bay" charity host, Preston Hillingsworth, to give him a piece of her mind and surprise! He was the bartender at the event. Hot damn, he is good looking.

In the final ten seconds of the episode Naomi's door bell rings and it's Jen! Why, writers, why? Don't you know we hate her? And not in that - love to hate her - kind of way.

Apparently the next new episode isn't until Tuesday, March 6th! I don't know how we can be expected to wait that long to find out why Jen is back and if Ivy and skater boy are doing to start tagging the town.
