Sugar Fix: Insomnia Cookies

Sunday night of my New York City trip, after a beautiful meal at Talent Thai, my friends I went in search of dessert. We wanted to pick up something sweet to share while watching the Golden Globes.

After wandering for a few blocks around Murray Hill, we decided on Insomnia Cookies. I'd never heard of Insomnia, but apparently the cookie shop is a chain.

As soon as you walk in your nostrils perk up at the immediate smell of butter and sugar and your mouth turns up into a smile.

Everyone stares at the menu board (a superb chalkboard) with a noticeable grin on their face.

While waiting in line I noticed the framed cookie art work! So simple, but so cute.

Behind the glass counter you can see a sample of every type of cookie which is so dangerous! They are so close you want to reach out and grab them!

Right off the bat we ordered a M&M cookie to eat while we selected our other flavors. The cookie was so buttery, crisp on the bottom and the M&Ms melt in your mouth as soon as they hit your tongue.

We got a box of cookies to go for the Globes. When we unpacked the box and gently laid each cookie on the plate, we could not wait to dig in!

We picked out three flavors: s'mores (the dark chocolate cookie), chocolate peanutbutter and chocolate chunk.

The s'mores cookie was incredible! It had marshmallow in the center which made the cookie even more doughy, chewy and bendy. The chocolate flavor was so pure and rich. I could have had five of these!

The chocolate peanutbutter cookie was not only a peanutbutter cookie base, but had Reeses peanutbutter cups mixed in.

Lastly, the chocolate chunk cookie was a traditional chocolate chip cookie, but instead of chocolate chips, the chocolate was large chunks, almost the size of a Hershey nugget. These Insomnia people really know how to appeal to a sweet tooth!

As if the cookies themselves weren't reason enough to embrace Insomnia, they deliver until 3:00am! You can order online and today, they have a deal of the day going on: three free cookies with your online order!

Is that you typing I hear? I thought so.
