Dining Out: Talent Thai

The New York City adventures continue! On Sunday night of my trip I went with two of best friends from summer camp (I've know them since I was 11 years old!) for an early dinner at Talent Thai in Murray Hill.

Talent is an incredibly beautiful restaurant. There are red and gold panels and red light fixtures that bring a true Asian flair to the design of the place.

I especially loved the gold leaves that were dancing along the wall of the restaurant.

Our waitress brought us menus and there were so many great choices We didn't know how to narrow it down!

So, we decided not to! We ordered three appetizers. The first to arrive was the curry puffs. I don't normally like the flavor of curry, but this curry was mild and the puff itself was nice and doughy, yet flaky on the outside.

Next we gobbled up the summer rolls which are served cold and packed with veggies. How stunning is this floral shaped presentation?

Our third choice was the vegetarian spring rolls which came in a vertical presentation. These were far and away my favorite! I loved the crunch of the egg roll shell.

For dinner, one of my friends ordered the pad see yew. It was a generous portion and the veggies were incredibly fresh.

My other friend ordered the tofu and vegetables in peanut sauce. She left me have a bite and the peanut sauce was fantastic! I wanted to eat her entire plate and then lick it!

She also ordered a side of sticky rice which literally came stuck together! It took a concentrated stroke of your fork to cut off a bite.

I decided on the pad thai with tofu. In my experience, pad thai is either incredible or really horrible. Talent's version is definitely on the incredible end of the spectrum. The noodles were hot and flavorful, the tofu was perfectly cooked and the veggies added a necessary crisp.

In addition to the wonderful food, gorgeous presentation and beautiful decor, Talent was playing music that could have come straight off my iPod! The playlist included: One Republic, John Mayer, Sara Bareilles and Maroon 5. I was singing along the entire meal.

You can visit Talent Thai for yourself at 34th Street and 3rd Avenue.
